Anti-RDF players had 3 years to play AND still have Classic Era. You missed the boat

Or to be actually consistent with how classic has been handled RDF should be in now since other than content we’re on the end patch of wrath, the same as vanilla and TBC.

Uh, . . . and . . .?

You mean this article? Says nothing of the kind.

It was literally in wrath for 50% of wrath’s lifetime.

I much prefer WotLK with the manual grouping mechanic and using the LFG tool to view listings, but I would be fine if there were special realms made for auto-queuing eventually.

The lack of RDF has had a clear benefit for my server. We have a thriving discord channel for our pugs on the Horde that has managed to create a sense of community that I haven’t felt in a long time, and I’ve been having an absolute blast meeting, chatting, and grouping with them. There’s a much stronger sense of camaraderie that I don’t even remember feeling in the OG Wrath era. It’s made the experience all the more enjoyable, and for the first time, one of the Classics has actually resonated with me enough that I’ve been playing it more than retail (chasing Glory of the Raider has been a lot more fulfilling than Veilstrider).

That said, I’ll fully admit that it’s not for everyone. Even in 3.3 we had the group finder, and we were in that patch for what, nine months? The LFD tool was a part of the Wrath experience, even if it wasn’t for the entirety of the expansion. If the RDF feature would be limited to those who want to use it versus those who’d rather keep things local, I don’t see much of a reason to deny it to people who want it.

What would I be losing, anyways? The way I see it, if the lack of a group formation tool is that important to the RDF crowd, chances are they wouldn’t really want to stick around for the rest of the expansion anyways, so it’s not like I’m losing a potential player to play with, and even then, I wouldn’t want to subject them to a negative experience.

I don’t really get my kicks from telling players how they should or shouldn’t play the game.

Well since RDF is vastly more popular than not having it the real solution would be to make one server without it and open free transfers to it.

I disagree. One of the draws for Classic is server communities, and you would be forcing the servers that exist now to give that up. By making new servers that have the feature that those who desire RDF are looking for, you wouldn’t be ruining those communities that are already there.

Most servers that exist have no community anyways. So RDF clearly wouldn’t hurt them at all.

That’s a very broad generalization. There’s definitely a stronger sense of community on the one I’m playing on, and I wouldn’t want to lose that.

Just because you refuse to even try to be part of the community doesnt mean it isnt there.

If you start a fire and burn down a forest and it kills hundreds of animals that you were not aware of were there because you refused to even look, does that mean they were never there? Nope, they were there the entire time, you just chose to be ignorant of their existance.

no one has ever said it wasnt impressive, but his point is that anti rdf’ers keep using the false tired old argument that rdf killed wow, when it did not and even the devs have said that it was cata’s character mechanics and terrain changes that killed wows popularity.

Blizzard devs stated in multiple interviews… “want something in world of warcraft, make some noise, post in the forums, post where we can see it” if you have issue with all these pro rdf posts you may want to approach the devs with it. i know we pro rdf’ers are hitting the posts here, hitting blizzard devs twitter accounts and i think even reddit and youtube making noise.

that would make it the last patch then wouldnt it?

They act like they don’t make constant anti-RDF threads too

When cata classic comes out then there’ll be a fourth without rdf. And possibly no raid finder. And possibly no transmog.
There’s a version of wow out there where you can queue all day if you wish.

Is this the newest woe is me I don’t have RDF pity party? It feels like it.

its funny because the devs opened the door to our kind of feedback, and it terrifies the anti rdf crowd. they dont want to lose their ability to gatekeep… which is hilarious because that ability would continue because they could still manually form groups. when you point that out they complain of having such weak mental fiber that they would be “forced” to use it to stay competitive… i ask… with who? this isnt an esport or contest, its a game. not one, and i mean NOT ONE, has ever even tried to answer the competitive question. and if its pvp then rdf wouldnt have even the slightest effect on pvp combat. pve gear isnt up to par generally with pvp gear in a pvp setting.

Life without RDF: :sob: I cant run dungeons they are gatekeeping me

Life with RDF: :sob: The queue is too long because tanks are gatekeeping me

Go back to Classic Era homie, you can play by yourself there without all these pesky people who dare to want features that were in Wrath
