anti-RDF is anti-Wrath

Sure, if you’re entirely unfamiliar with Blizzard and game companies in general.

Sure, worked for Classic. And fresh servers. And HvH BGs. And free xfers. And barbershop changes. And name change. And TBCC honor gains. And TBCC arena point gain. And Gnomish Battle Chicken. And boosting.

I’m sorry, were you sarcastically implying that posting on the forums doesn’t lead Blizzard to changing their mind on something?

It’s because my thread upsets people who don’t want RDF, probably because I took the time to address all their arguments as well as provide proof for my claims.

That thread in particular was a great anti-RDF troll thread, like I said it was a copy paste of another thread but the person went on to ignore virtually every argument and kept talking in circles which is about what you can expect when debating someone with that stance.

I don’t want to come off as rude or toxic though, if you felt that way it was never the intention. I just felt like calling out the troll when I saw it.

Your right, it was a business decision made when they started classic. They understand that over the years retail took a turn that many players didn’t like and caused them to leave. So they are trying to make classic target that rype of player while retail is still there for those who want everything to be convenience convenience convenience.

Why are you on wrath forums then

There is a point that the game design focuses on convenience over rpg, community, exc. And that line based on blizzards actions is rdf. They dont want classic to cross that line because they already have retail designed that way.

They want classic to feel different than retail because not doing so defeates the purpose of running 2 separate mmorpg. If they are to similar they might as well just be running one of them. And the divide they seem to be going with for classic is not stepping over that line where convenience becomes more important than any other aspect of the game.

Hard disagree.

It’s not a line. RDF is a Wrath feature. Wrath Classic should have Wrath features. If you don’t like Wrath, then don’t play Wrath Classic, rather than butchering it because you think RDF is what caused the “downfall” of WoW, and not the combination of it being an older game with a bunch of minor issues that piled up over the years, Wrath population hitting a critical mass of players that was bound to drop hard from, an extremely poorly managed community that was rife with toxicity driving players away, or competition actually showing up in the genre.

Yes, I’m aware of Ion’s big galaxy brain thinking the only thing separating Classic and Retail is the existence of RDF. Not my fault it’s a dumb take, nor that you ate it up gleefully.

I see you still dont understand that the whole idea of classic is to provide the authentic experience, whenever be living through its ups and downs, the gameplay, the philosophy, the systems and the features that is present within the authentic experience which is made for those people who want to experience that version when they missed out or to relive it again and not those that want to get away from these features or try to take away from that said authentic experience.

Its not rdf specifically. Its designing the game to favor convenience over any other aspect. They have retail designed that way and are trying to not let classic be designed that way because if the two running mmorpg becomes to similar it defeats the purpose of running both.

Not my fault you dont even understand why its being done, ir that you intentionally ignore the logical reasoning behind the decisions made. You might not like it, but that doesnt make it dumb. This all boils down to game play preference for if you like this change or not. It’s not a hard fact of it being a good or bad change, its entirely based on personal preference of game design, aka opinion.

Sadly that idea went out the window when some changes was embraced. Which happened in classic vanilla.

Retail failed, and still fails not due to RDF, but due to other game features / entities

An optional feature (RDF - ITS OPTIONAL - NO ONE SAID YOU COULDN’T FORM YOUR OWN GROUP/RAID) is a far-cry for the decrease in players…

Using that as a scape-goat just shows how ignorant some are

This makes no sense, as bad as Shadowlands was it was the best selling game of 2020.

Clearly they still generate revenue for it to be successful.

I’m not defending Shadowlands but they put in a retail function directly into Classic, they at some point think that this is the right move to do for some reason when they are two different games and communities.

I do embrace some changes however with a catch… as long as the re-release doesn’t stray away with some changes from the source material with some the changes, I would be fine like having the item that allows you to pause World buffs or Alliance paladins in TBC getting Seal of blood in TBC classic. Some changes like not having RDF at all when it was released in 3.3 and engrained within the Source material is against the idea of providing the said authentic experience.

this is your problem. and everyone’s problem who thinks this way.

WoW. is not call of duty. it was not meant for you to sit in 1 spot, waiting for Que’s to pop.

if you want CoD… go play CoD.

you should be out int he world, levelling or doing whatever, while you look for groups if you can’t stand the wait. then fill that time with other things.

If you want to play Retail… go play Retail.

Wrath had LFD and Cross Realm Battlegroups, right now instead of the getting the original game features which is the purpose of Classic we have a literal Retail feature called LFG, by defending that it’s kinda clear you’re more into Retail than Classic.

Absolutely, that’s the issue. I come to play the game with other players not to spend my play time looking for people to play the game with.
