So between Ansurek and Gallywix, we’re now on back to back bosses tuned to the point of virtually being unpuggable.
Yes, I understand heroic shouldn’t be a cakewalk. But the pug scene is getting pretty grim out there for players without committed guilds. The P1 damage alone requiring 6-8 healers is just insane.
Could we maybe some day actually get a word from the top dogs about their feelings on pugging and whether it should be a realistic goal for the raid to become clearable by x point, or are they trying to force guilds to happen, allthewhile talk about downsizing mythic to 10-man due to large group organization/benching friends for comp sake continues to become more frequent.
3, or technically 4. Tindral and Fyrakk were massive pug killers, and so was Raszageth. We’re on patch 4 of the last 5 of this honestly. Though, I will say that Gally was SUBSTANTIALLY easier to pug just on pull count comparisons and number of groups I had to search for on AoTC.
I would still say the healer situation with the fight is extremely unreasonable, but that fight is almost entirely a healer and tank fight. DPS just turn their brains off and stand where they need to. Occasionally throw or move a bomb. It’s probably the easiest last boss for DPS accountability specifically in almost 3 expansions. Which means way less chances for some random brainlet to ruin a pull.
Specs absolutely pulverized by bizarre and questionable tuning changes coming into/going through this expansion, mind you. Perhaps this is the root of the issue here.
So, nobody who matters even slightly is suggesting making M raids 10-man. The playerbase comes up with all kinds of dumb inane ideas, that doesn’t mean there’s any reason to entertain them coming true.
Otherwise mythic raid would be simultaneously easier and harder, give more loot and give no loot at all, be puggable and ban non-guilds, etc etc etc.
I have tried to pug heroic Gally a couple of times and haven’t gotten him with a pug group yet, but he’s nowhere near as hard as Ansurek was. You just need DPS to handle the bombs the adds drop and soak stuff and you’re golden.
I’d just be happy with Myth being converted to Flex on the .5 patch, because at that point the casual guilds are just getting AotC and looking to move on, all the hardcore guilds have already done at least most of mythic, and all the nerfs are in place alongside the typical .5 patch super powered item like Cyrces and the Corruption enchants are already in compromising the sacred “Challenge” already.
Seems like a good move to me. Gives the casual guilds something to move on to without compromising the initial challenge the hardcore guilds want at the start of the season.
Hmm? Just go with 7 healers IMO, it’s basically a healer fight as the DPS requirement is pretty low. Assign bombs to someone who can do them, win. Make sure people are soaking do 2 in melee left and right and one for ranged to soak, you can assign groups if you want.
if you’re not a healer this fight basically feels like a first or second boss experience. just hit the boss move when things happen and handle a mechanic once in awhile. Not mechanically intensive at all.
This is the concern. Gatekeeping at P1 makes progging harder (referring to pugs here), as when the body turnover occurs, people have to continuously relearn it. And when I say relearn it, it’s healers learning to recoordinate CD’s between themselves. With an organized group, yes this boss is one of the easiest we’ve had. In a PuG, it’s a total gong show. Do they want to continue disincentivizing PuGs is the discussion here.
