So since the latest patch i started noticing the jaggy edge lines on objects and characters way too prominently. While the game runs pretty smooth, it seems anti-aliasing is simply not working.
I realy hate the jaggy lines on the characters and weapons. They are incredibly distracting to me.
I usualy run the game at 150-175 % resolution scale, with MSAA 2X and bicubic resample for the best quality/performance. I like that way because unlike just using very high MSAA, this keeps the edge lines smooth, but the textures aren’t a blurry mess. My monitor regular resolution is 2560x1080 just btw. I have a 1080ti, and the latest drivers. And to be fair, the performance of the game is fine. The fps are stable, and in fact they improved since the last patch. But the jaggy lines are just driving me crazy.
Even with the increased resolution scale, if going all the way to 8x on the msaa, the edges of my characters are horribly jagged. I particularly noticed that changing the resampling option: None, bilinear or bicubic does nothing at all now. I deleted the config file even to re-do the settings just in case, but the results are the same. It seems the client is simply not applying any AA, but the weird thing is that the increased resolution used to smooth the lines a lot even without msaa or fxaa, but now it does very very slightly. I also made sure the settings on the card are set to default: use the config of the 3d aplication.
So any ideas?
EDIT
I went into the nvidia control panel and forced 2x msaa on wow.exe specificaly. It did help. Is not perfect still, but it reduced the jaggy lines a fair amount to be less distracting and annoying. They are still there, but this kinda tell me that the client is realy not applying some filter. Maybe you guys can check it out.
