Anthem looks really bad

I just watched a “short film.” And the game looks terrible honestly.
It looks generic and blah. Has anybody played it?

I don’t even know, or care, what the story is, the gameplay was extremely fun and that’s why I play for

BTW that “trailer” or whatever didn’t really give any clue as to what the game is about, it was actually supposed to be a 10 minute or so film. Don’t place gameplay or story of the game around it, it was supposed to be many years before the game.

My understanding is that the game is horribly optimized and even a 1060/580 can barely manage 60fps at 1080p, without the visuals warranting the performance

None of us saw bad performance over here once we dropped it from the unneeded “Ultra” that it automatically sets it to.

I’m not saying no one had issues, but they were looking to fix things, that’s why they did the vip and open demo (really they were betas)

also, nvidia just released an Anthem optimized driver yesterday, so that might help as well.

It’s like Destiny but in suits that can fly. Which is also a generic boring game.

Try it for yourself, there’s plenty of free 7 day trials to origin access floating around that’ll give you 10 hrs.

I was hoping somebody would offer something beyond “it’s really not” and explain why it wasn’t blah and why it’s worth trying.

None of us were interested in it until we tried it, the gameplay is what makes it fun, if you’re not willing to try it your opinion is never going to change.

It’s an extremely fast paced (unlike a lot of the games in this style, the division is more tactical, Destiny is quite a bit slower) looter shooter with emphasis on abilities (that are changeable) over 100% weapon play.

I’m not being sarcastic either. It is appreciated. I’m not interested in that type of game at all. I’ll just keep playing Wow and Breath of the Wild for now.

Best game since Skyrim.

When my sub runs out I’ll probably pick up Civ 6’s expac and go back to Cities: Skylines again as those games are both pretty amazing now.

I may re-up though. BoD is fun and while BfA isn’t great, it’s certainly not as bad as Cataclysm or WoD.

What’s Anthem like? Is it anything like wow?

No, it’s not, beyond being multiplayer and having loot I guess.

It’s a looter shooter, third person, blow up everything type game. Kind of like The Division but much more action packed.

Has gear levels (common, uncommon, epic, masterwork, legendary).
Missions that are like quests, full Bioware level story.
Evolving world planned.
4 player teams.

to see if you can find someone with referrals left which gives you a free 7 days of origin access basic, which will get you 10 hours of Anthem play.

Otherwise Origin Access is 5 bucks
Origin Premiere is 15 but that will give you full access to the game for the month you pay.
