Another Wild God bites the dust (Ardenweald Spoilers)

RIP Rezan again.

Looks like the Wild Gods are being treated like dust sadly.

Essence probably means more like Anima. He used Rezans Anima to revive Dazar.

Essence of your soul isn’t your soul.

Substance of a thing vs the thing itself.

Because the Farraki have never been strong lmao. They were the remnants of jungle trolls who were stranded in a desert. Just because the writers force a setting to make events happen doesn’t mean they should do that. It makes for a non-consistent story and dumb writing.

Yes, the trolls have been punching bags for, like, all of WoWs lifespan. But you’re severely overestimating them. Troll tribes should unite and force concession through guerilla warfare? The sand trolls are bandits who can barely keep themselves in check, the drakari are near-extinct, and the amani/gurubashi have been raided so many times that they realistically should be wiped out.

Troll tribes are characteristically xenophobic and prideful. Most importantly, stagnate. They don’t change their ways and have suffered because of it. (Literally why the Zandalari were almost wiped out by G’huun) Pulling a scarlet monastary and saying “Hey, they arent dead, they’ve only been wiped out 5 times before. They are really a threat this time” would only meme the trolls further.

Develop the progressive trolls like the Darkspear and Zandalari.
==The rest of the tribes deserve what they got== just like the scarlet monstary.

and honestly, the idea of a “Trolls superior race” faction, or “-insert race- is the superior race!” has come and gone. It was done in 4.1, done with other races like the orcs, night elves, humans, whatever. It’s boring and that whole rationale is only used to make a villain faction… is that what you want? A reason for us to beat them down again?

Every troll Tribe other than the Zandalari have been in decline for decades before WoW classic even started. Gurubashi turned to Hakkar out of desperation. Amani were only a threat to Silvermoon due to the recent near genocide of the High/Blood Elves and the loss of the sunwell. Farraki were a desert tribe formed around a single outpost that was isolated post-sundering. The Drakkari were facing down the entire might of the Scourge.

Trolls have been on the backfoot for the entirety of WoW’s lore and their golden ages happened thousands of years ago. They’ve never been some uber strong race held back by blizzard writers. Races who qualify for that would be Nelves, Dwarves, or Forsaken.

Funny that mention Forsaken when they’re now homeless and lost on multiple fronts.

And Nelves who received a huge blow to their population to the point it made Tyranda concerned.
The only faction that was safe and saund were the dwarves. But the rest? The ending of BfA was that everyone is so weak that they’re about to collapse.

So now stuff are even.

The whole point of this conversation is to give them different narrative. To make them independent political power and respect their autonomy. Instead of current narration “my way or the high way” both Horde and Alliance represent. Farraki did absolutely nothing to deserve their city raided, they were minding their own business but that didn’t stop “adventurers” from sacking their home.
There is nothing wrong from wanting a plot where the trolls unite in self - preservance.
What it takes is writer good will.

And really if they can afford belfies splitting over and over and still afford army then trolls can have that too.

Forsaken only lost cuz BFA is a shallow mess. Forsaken delivered a phyrric victory to the entire alliance. The only clean loss was in Darkshore. In past expansions Forsaken won multiple times along multiple fronts. In fact, their first real military losses are in BFA.

Nelves have long been the unjustified punching bag for the Kalimdor horde. Yet, before BFA they were always able to stalemate the Orcs.

It’s funny to me that a troll fan would even bring up BFA events to argue, considering how poorly it treats the Zandalari, who are supposed to be the one major troll empire that isn’t in decline.

They were losing against Worgen, and it took a blackmail to somehow get out with face about it. And Gilneas remains to be a contested territory, not clean victory.
Arathi? Lost.
The only thing that they maintained is Hillbrad really, and only won because of “bomb plot device” otherwise they’d be nuked out of orbit with the assault that was prepared against them.

I never argued that Trolls were never given any favorable treatment, they haven’t had any meaningful victory since Aquir Wars. But that doesn’t mean it cannot be changed.
