Another week with nothing done about faction imbalance

Solutions suggested by the community-

  1. Faction Queues
  2. Free faction locked transfers
  3. Lock character creation on overpopulated faction

The problem with these solutions is they all involve inconveniencing a large group of players. You may pull off faction balance this way, but you’ll also cause a large group of people to quit. Trading one bad situation for another isn’t a fun solution for anyone in the long run (unless you just want to watch the world burn).

They can be inconvenienced for a short time waiting for faction to balance (1-3 weeks) or a very very long time dealing with a bad faction balance (years possibly)
It’s better to take the medicine now.

But the issue will never go away.

Even if they made every server 50:50 today those numbers would be different 2 weeks, months and years from now.

I wouldn’t even care if I had faction queues. I’d be happy to wait if it meant balanced servers for everyone

Now, I support this idea… but I don’t believe there is any chance of that ever happening. Faction queues would have dramatic, visceral reactions. It would be the most effective solution, but it’s a dirty solution. People would be enraged… and that’s fair honestly.

Totally support this. Should be available all the time, don’t know why they put a stop to them.

This is the worst of all the ideas. It would prevent people from playing with their friends and family.

Faction queues wouldn’t necessarily correct WPvP imbalances. That assumes that each faction is out in each zone in similar numbers and organization.

If one side likes to PvE more, there will still be a WPvP imbalance.

Join a larger PvP guild and get out there in force if this is an issue for you.

prevent people from playing with their friends and family *unless they take the nudge and transfer to fix the faction imbalance.

faction balance is a pipe dream.
Having more people create low level characters of the one faction won’t help with perceived balance as at max level it will remain what it is now.

Who gives a * if people are outraged.

If someone doesn’t like faction queues/supporting their own server they can quit, everyone is better off without people like that (does someone like that even exist?). You lose a few subs but in the end you’re getting 10x more because the game is in a better state because of it

Pandering to weak people never helped anybody

While my vanilla server was I believe 5050, I am more recently used to playing on a 60/40 server (a 1x server 2013-2016) both of them felt fine on alliance side and we definitely had our share of sweaty horde honor farmers. The current state of my classic realm is unacceptable.

nothing is going to be perfect, and even on a 5050 server horde tend to pvp more. It’s about a happy medium, which we are too far from to be acceptable.

=/= 3 players and their alts

Even if server population was 50/50, the amount of PvPer’s for each faction could/will differ greatly.

A better option would be for people to accept that the issues with WPVP are entirely player created and that if you want more structured PVP then you should roll on a PVE server where you can plan it out in advance with a guild of the opposed faction.

Because yeah: Blizzard won’t ~and I’d argue shouldn’t~ rejig the system to prop up a weaker faction when it will only serve to outrage a larger slice of the player population.

Blizzard. .

What are we a bunch of toddlers in daycare and Blizzard is looking after us?

If they had their original attitude of not giving a * then we wouldn’t have this present day retail garbo

You don’t make art by listening to what everyone thinks you just do whatever the * you want to do

This is explicitly not what I’m suggesting. Propping up the weaker faction would be messing with racials, loot tables, giving buffs or debuffs to influence outcomes. What I’m suggesting is merely balancing the population so problems can work themselves out.

If after that more players on horde gank alliance than alliance gank horde, oh well. Honestly I can’t understand the crybabies on balanced servers whining about getting ganked. There’s no excuse for them. When it’s 80/20 we just don’t have a shot and something needs to be done.

This was a WELL KNOWN ISSUE within the private server community, with good servers advertising their faction balance status, aiming to never go farther than 60/40. These issues were undeniably discussed with blizzard when the Nostalrius creators came to meet with blizzard when this all began. Most importantly these community suggestions on how to fix the issue have been successfully implemented as faction balance controls on private servers.

Nope, Blizzard is a business and we are their customers. Enrage your customers and they stop paying you. I feel like this is all common knowledge.
