The people that aren’t complaining about warrior have probably never actually, truly mained, and geared a warrior in classic. To get the intoxicating feeling of sweeping strikes whirlwind tanking in arms in dungeons. Fury prot tanking raids and spamming the ever living crap out of heroic strike. Or doing massively engaging dps rotations.
The problem here is warrior is absolute dog water to level. They get no mobility and have no self healing. They get clobbered in pvp when kited.
With all this against them they deserve to be the hardest hitting, unstoppable force when they finally get into melee range. And taking away rage generation just annihilated the entire class…
I understand tanking is fun according to some people, this post is more centered around the dps lobotomy that is happening.
Also I know this wasn’t a very productive post, so I’ll leave the post with a question. What can we do to keep the warrior rotation engaging and meaningful in arms and fury, but keep the rage normalization?Because they probably aren’t going to revert this change.

I had zero issues leveling as arms to 20 - I swapped to prot once I hit 20 & it’s been fine.
Sounds like a skill issue on your end to be honest, not even hating.
I’m now full BiS & tank dungeons with zero issues - I have been doing 22+ quests as well in prep for 30 cap, with zero issues.
(I mained warrior during original vanilla retail - wotlk retail.)

The point is to call it out early as it’ll become a compounding issue the further you get. Making it through the easiest possible content =/= everything’s good to go.

I get it “ haha skill issue” like I don’t know how to play warrior. Yes I leveled warrior just fine. That’s not the point.
The point is the class was gutted and received a large downgrade from classic, while every other class got buffed.
Yes, you can still level. Yes you can still have fun. But warrior went from being a crazy fun, wildly engaging class to play, with many different variations and very large skill gap. To a very simple wait for rage press 2 buttons rotation.

Strange… I was talking to a friend yesterday who told me there are videos of this warrior clearing most of dead mines by themselves.
Wish I asked him for the name or YT channel so I could provide the source.

Yea prot is shaping up to be super sick. Just talking about the fury lobotomization.

Rage generation is absolutely a problem but FWIW it’s time for Non-Prot tanking to die.

Fair point, I’ll take fury prot tanking getting the boot. If they fix fury for dps lol

I find that to be pretty impressive.

To be fair, hes one of the original OG warriors that set the standard. Guy has always been great at what he does.

I leveled, tanked, and PvP’d as Arms. After reaching 20 and getting BiS gear, I continued tanking as Arms, and it feels like a waiting game between weapon swings, nothing like my Warrior on Era.
I can complete the content, but the rage starvation makes it feel restrictive. Most of my rage goes toward Shield Block and Revenge, with Taunt filling the gaps when needed. Occasionally I can work in Demo Shout, Thunder Clap, or Rend, but there’s rarely enough rage left to use the rest of my kit effectively.
Being able to clear the content doesn’t mean the class feels good to play. That’s my only concern.
I think we should be generating more rage from being hit or after critting which is currently zero rage gen, being able to generate more rage would fix the class imo.

If fury is lobotomized (wich it is atm) then ARMS is dead … so dead its bones are crumbling to dust as we speak

Arms is shaping up to be the equivalent of a hunter pet at the moment.

Great not only is warrior crap to level as dps, not only do they get kited like crazy, not only do they little to no healing. Now they aren’t even allowed to have rage at 60 to make it worth it

How are y’all determining how the spec plays out with only 10 talent points and hardly any +hit gear? Fury was absolutely gimped in Vanilla for leveling because your offhand has such terrible hit rate. Once you start hitting consistently with your offhand, the rage comes much more smoothly, not to mention the increase in auto attack damage.

Leveling 1-20 is not any worse than Vanilla TBH. You have no instant attacks, which has always sucked. Current level bandages and health pots solve the no self-healing issue, as it always has
The part I am more worried about is the lack of additional rage gen as Sweeping Strikes/Whirlwind/Mortal Strike come online paired with stance dancing still dropping rage
It’s going to suck when you have three buttons to push and your waiting to hit more than one

I replied to a similar question in another post i believe. but essentially with rage normalization you can see the writing on the wall. you know how the class will play, and it will be a slower pace worse version of the vanilla warrior.
and if you havent played max level warrior in classic vanilla, respectfully, you wouldn’t understand.
