Another "undocumented" Change - AH is now faction-specific

Just realized this when using the AH on both factions on my server: AH is now faction specific.
it hasn’t been since years now, but for some reason someone at Blizzard thought it had to be reversed I guess?

Damn it, please make AH cross-faction again, the only reason I have all my alliance characters on this 99% horde server was because the AH was great.

Does that mean the neutral AH are back in?

Sounds more like a “bug” than an “undocumented change.” Auction houses have been cross-faction since Warlords of Draenor, so this certainly doesn’t sound like an intentional change.

Either, or… Could be the cause, BfA in a nutshell.

If this is true, it’d be a bug, not an intended change. I’d make sure to report it in the Bug Report Forum, bring it up on twitter, and make sure to submit a Bug Report in game.

It’s intended to be cross-faction.

Then again, it’s entirely possible they had to disable the cross-faction part temporarily to increase auction house load time while they work on the new infrastructure.

The Neutral AHs just access the regular AHs, and have done that for quite some time now.

I’d always been under the impression that the auction house was always faction specific. Hence why the neutral AH’s exists.

Whatever. My server is like 95% Alliance so I’d hardly be missing out on buyers anyway. :heavy_dollar_sign:

What items are you trying to find on the AH? A lot of the new crafted items are faction specific due to the transmog they offer and won’t show up on the AH if your on the opposite faction.

I can currently see auctions from both factions on the AH.

Edit: Any item that is faction specific (ie: battered hilt, faction specific crafted gear, etc.) will not show up on the AH for members of the opposite faction.

Huh, the more you know.

The past couple of expansions the factions were more and more working together against a common enemy, so it kinda made sense for them to share resources. But BfA is about getting back to WoW’s roots: Alliance and Horde fighting each other. And they can’t have the AH be cross-faction anymore because it doesn’t jive with that.

Population is less and they separate the ah like that makes sense…

This is the answer. The AH is still cross-faction. Just BFA crafted items (not all).

Auction house is now phased to avoid loading issues (blizzard probably) /s

I think that is only for gear and some patterns. I know there is a horde only pattern I can see on my horde character and can’t see on my alliance.

don’t believe everything you read on the internet.

Fun detected and nerf, woohooo that was close they almost had a good time.

It would be really bad for very imbalanced servers if they separated the AH by faction.

People made the same joke back when cross faction AH was implemented. It made about as much sense then as it does now.
