Another Ret Post

As TWW approaches, I feel it’s once gain time to write about obvious and needed improvements for Paladin especially Ret.

We gained a lot of range on our abilities in DF, but MOBILITY is still a glaring issue especially in PVP. There are VERY EASY fixes for this,

Unbound Freedom Talent used to make HOF immune to dispels, plz bring this back, it is maddening how any mage can simply spell steal your HOF and perma root you forever, there is no counterplay to this except to waste your bubble.
There are 3 talent points for Divine Steed how is it possible there are none that make it break roots and snares? Every single Ret Streamer and Youtuber mentions this for the past few xpacs.
Dks another slow class have MUTIPLE grips, COI that slows up to 90% and slow immunities and speed abilites similar to our steed, it is not asking for too much to make Steed break roots or snares it is similar to what every class has.
Or bring back double HOF like we used to have in WOD.
Also our ability to put slows on targets is pathetic, it used to be half decent when Blade of Justice would apply hand of hindrance. Judgement of Justice with a 30% slow and 10% move inc is laughable. In flag matches I have warlocks outrunning me with the flag. Judgement of Justice needs a big boost 30% slow and 30& inc at least or 50% slow and 20% inc. or something similar or simply bring back hand of hindrance, very easy fix.

Also why is Strength of Conviction in the Pala tree a dead talent for Rets? You can easily make it increase our TV when standing in Conc, this would give ret some interesting choices at the bottom of the tree instead of the cookie cutter we have now.

IMO Blessing of Dusk shield should be pumped up as well, it feels good to be able to use your spenders knowing your getting some defensive value 3% shield is pathetic.

My last thought is for Prot Pal, I do very much enjoy the gameplay but please revert the mana usage change on WOG, it feels absolutely horrible to be doing your rotation perfectly and helping your team mates survive during a tough encounter and go OOM, how is it possible I can generate the HP but not be able to spend it? This was a very bad decision to implement tht on Prots.

Hopefully someone will read this but I had to get this stuff off my chest, looking forward to the xpac, please do the little things to make it shine for your Pala friends

We have perpetual 20 yard range, we don’t need more mobility, EXCEPT steed clearing snares and roots.

Other than that, our pvp issues are strictly tuning on dmg and heals.

I love our extra range gained in DF as I mentioned in my post, but PVP is not always just a 1v1 issue, mobility is needed to get to objectives to interrupt a cast, for positioning purposes, and 20yrd is not that much when Boomies Hunters Mages are hitting you at 40

Un-dispellabe HOF and Steed that breaks roots and snares , or a return of Hand of Hindrance are very small things to ask for, especially when we used to have some of these things

Hindrance was a waste of bar space…

A slow on a 1 min cd, come on.

Judgement of justice is fine with our range capabilities.

Really our only need is for steed to not require freedom.

As for undispellable freedom, it’s be overkill with a fully functioning steed.

Hindrance used to be tied to Blade of Justice so it was available quite often. If they make steed break roots we don’t need HOF undispellable, but having ur freedom stolen or purged right now while trying to close distance is horrible and disheartening especially with the increased CD of HOF in DF.
there are many fixes bring back the un-dispellable, or bring back 2 charges of HOF like we used to have or Buff the Steed. Many fixes I would prefer multiple be implemented but something does need to be done

Promoting you to chief Paladin class designer. Maybe you can find a way to tune Holy Paladin to function in melee and at range with the same build next.

Mmmm Id take both. Purge proof Blessings because its not a blessing to have it stolen or dispelled, some of whats is dispelled is done with a 1 min CDs while what was removed early has a 4 or 5 min CD AND gives me Forbearance. I still cant believe Blessing of Spellwarding does not protect against magical based CC. Getting double punished from Forbearance and having the buff that gave it to me negated so easy is a feels bad moment every time…and I want Ret to have a slow no weaker than the average slow from the rest of the melee, since I dont see us getting their Disarms, Shadowy Duels, Near spamable CC that doesnt break on damage, instant mobility, Smoke Bombs, MS, or Invisability.

I feel like I just conviced myself to play rogue if nothing else. Thats not how a die hard Paladin class player should be made to feel looking at the other specs abilities in comparison to what Paladins can have.
