But this is okay for you to project? . Take care and have a great day.
How do you have achievements all bfa when you were [quote=“Yubie-stormrage, post:9, topic:1038654”]
unsubed from the game like any mentally sane person was.

What achievements do I have from 8.3? I didnt do the raid and I didnt get any pvp achievements from season 4, aka “late bfa”.
I played the rest BFA at the same rate im playing shadowlands which is sub for the month the patch drops, getting elite sets, see the raid at least once and unsubbing for 6-9 months till the next patch (which is what im doing now too).
You took the time to look at my achievements and you still conveniently didnt see that eh? Like I said, create fake scenarios in your head to stay mad, kinda cringe ngl.
Nope, 8,.3 was entirely double wizards!
8.3 Destro warlock living in your head rent free till the end of time must be nice IG.
Sorry, but eli5 on how this implies I said destro warlock was the only viable caster in 8.3? We dont seem to be on same wave lengths here.
legion s2 was extremely caster dominant like almost exclusively iirc
sp/moonkin was unbeatable for almost anything
i’m p sure demo was insane and aff was p good too
legion s5 was a REALLY good ele, lock, & sp season also
though i think there were a couple really meta cleaves also (wwdk specifically)
Yeah demonology early on was insane aswell as shadow priest ( I ran spriest/demo/rsham s2). But melee comps and melee+ranged was definintely strong there too. Demon hunter x anything. Rogue x anything. ww/dk was still strong. Fury emerged a bit later as a meme one shot sprc again but I cant remember if it gained any real traction. Even outlaw late legion saw play cause apparently a ranged 20 second kidney shot is pretty good!
Just to reiterate and perhaps make my opinion clearer, Im again not saying double casters have not had its oppresive moments since MoP. Im saying during MoP, it was a legitmate, wizard or die meta where melee comps and melee in general was actually not seeing comparatively as much success because of them
Almost no double melee comp had great success at any stage of mop. WW/Dk wasnt popular until WoD, turbo lost to l$D and most times god comp, TSG lost to every double wizard cleave, rets in general was an under performing spec, etc. Pretty much all good melee comps was hybrids that had another strong caster to pair with them, but that wasnt the case for casters who had multiple hybrid or wizard only comps to run.
Since then, the game has moreso leaned towards melee especially at lower ratings and casual play (which are important for the health of the gamestate as a whole). As you go higher up in rating ranged start to even out in representation and success but they dont blot out melee’s existence entirely.
ya really good post
i agree though i’m not sure how they can really change that
wizards are and have mostly been absolutely dominant at the highest end and lowering the skill floor to make it more palatable for lower skilled players is incredibly dangerous
almost every wizard can do a majority of their important damage nearly instantly
and almost every wizard is kitted very well defensively
if they do more they just make bfa destro which is absolutely NOT okay
and if they remove too many tools from melee the game just feels worse
all we can really hope is that gear makes pacing feel better for everyone at every rating
melee will always have a lower skillfloor and skillcap than ranged, i really have no idea how that could be changed
There needs to be a design philosphy change. Which probally wont happen since theres like 1 guy and his pet turtle who work on class design at blizzard.
In general across the board there needs to be less burst cooldowns. Unholy for example which was my old main spec, changed from a sustain damage spec with decent burst to almost entirely designed around burst. It doesnt help that they created cov abilities that add MORE burst in the game. Abilities like convoke, abominations limb, divine toll, enhancement chain harvest or ele primordial wave should just not exist. When every class is designed around burst cooldown windows it just becomes an arms race of who does it better.
In my ideal gamestate, classes like warlocks, priest, DKs, druids, monks, and non sub rogues should have little to no burst and just be designed around sustain damage again.
This is a git gud situation.
Says the PvE zug zug.
When has it not been a wizard meta. We still are in one.
