the lesson in this for Blizzard and all other game developers is that if you take time to listen to customer’s complaints THEY WILL NEVER GODAM STOP COMPLAINING.

That was a joke, about the use of the word Boot. But if you’re being serious, no gathering really isn’t making anyone rich, especially skinning. Everyone and their brother is a skinner. Stuff is selling for more to vendors after AH cuts.
Right now at the beginning of a server economy’s lifespan is exactly the right time to level crafting professions. Everyone needs money right now, for their mounts, their skills, etc. Market is absolutely saturated to the gills with raw mats, people aren’t thinking about holding them because they’ll be worth more months down the line. Some may be–but the majority aren’t.
Profit from this. Gatherers think they’re taking the crafters for a ride right now, but when you’re rocking 300 professions and are ahead of the curve for BoE craft-ables? Whose making bank then?
