So, I loaded this new game because that’s where the exodus is going (and streamers) - played a few hours (free to start and stuff); exited; opened add-remove programs; uninstalled; came back here and dinged 60 on a char that will be my main - let the fun begin again.
Moral of the story - grass is not always greener… unless you fall in love with someone that you think is your soulmate and can’t be with them. That grass was greener. That sucked.

It’s impressive that you were able to decide that you hated an MMORPG after playing for a couple hours, but one way or another, you should do what makes you happy!
All of this said I’m really not sure what about this was making a post over, especially when you are being purposely vague about everything you are talking about here…
I do understand there is some drama going on but we we still have friends here and its a really solid game. One of the main things that threw me off was the Anime graphics…(now not vague 
)
That’s not surprising in the least. They’re a troll druid named Fishfood whose achievements are overwhelmingly PvP and Dungeon/Raid focused.
They’re in it for the encounters and the PvP, and the above mentioned MMORPG is very heavy on the RPG and Story focus. It does have good dungeons/raids and once you get past the early levels character abilities open up into a bit more complexity as well.
But they’re not really the target audience for the above mentioned MMORPG, and that’s okay. Let them play what they want to play and what they enjoy.

I love that people like you don’t play FFXIV. Imagine playing wow to lvl 2 and then pretending you know what it’s about.
I believe that’s the point behind trial accounts. I played FF14 for awhile, and while I do wish them well, and hope they succeed, it’s not a game I find as enjoyable as others do.
And now I’m hearing from people that their forums have been located by the exodi, so I can only imagine what that looks like.
I agree entirely. It just felt a bit petty… I’ve seen this constantly lately. “I played this game that the streamers were playing and I decided it was terrible after spending a whole hour playing it.” It takes a little longer than that to settle on most games.
If they decided it’s not for them that’s okay and I have no issue with that, I just can’t figure out what was worth making a post about it or why they are trying to hide the name of the game (spoiler alert: it’s Final Fantasy XIV). (Not to mention they specifically point out they went so far as to uninstall the game immediately, implying they genuinely hated it and it wasn’t just something they didn’t enjoy at the time.)
If it’s just an innocent but random post then more power to the OP and I apologize for being suspicious, but with the amount of trolling going around about FFXIV I suspect that is not the case…
I really hope other games get as far as they can from wow. 
If you had never played WoW before, and you loaded up the free trial on WoW today, you would likely quit after an hour as well.
Yeah, the game is sloooooooooooow and bombards you with stuff to do.
Not going to be everyone’s cup of tea. Stick to what you like.
It was a genuine nice post - I am too old to care about stirring the pot. I just wanted to check it out and it was not for me - I have been watching wow streamers since twitch started.
Anyway, I am really not into the graphics and you can figure that out in 10 mins. I mean I could have stayed longer for the storyline but I do like it here. Being a busy dad I don’t have much time.

I play both games and still feel like WoW is “home”.
It’s ok to like one or the other. Don’t treat it like a fad.
My next step is to find a great guild and really feel like I belong…That was sorta a reason to look at FF14.
That will help me here. I am working on my professions now, campaigns, LFRs, etc. - so there is a lot to do. 
Starting over in a brand new game…guess I got scared and wanted to come (as you say) “home”
Likewise I genuinely apologize for misreading your post, there just has been so much bashing of FFXIV lately and it sometimes leads me to running off of assumptions.
You seem like a genuinely great person, and I wish you the best. ^^
