Another Follower Dungeon Escape Post

You can leave a skirmish without penalty as soon as you take a hostile action, and their queues are very quick.

The people resorting to follower queues will just do that instead.

At that point, you can camp the area though. They can’t hearth out of one.

Drink a deepholm potion…

Problem with this is, you can’t do it mid combat. If you try to phase away into another shard while in PvP combat, it’ll delay the sharding until after PvP combat has ended and for about 10-20 seconds.

It’s funny that people still think this works. You can’t even feign death / shadow meld and deepholm pot. Don’t believe me? Try it. It’ll give you the “cant do that right now” error.

You can, I still use them. You can’t be in combat.

Disable follower dungeon queues in war mode and the problem will be solved instantly. There are other ways people can weasel out of stuff, but follower dungeon queue abuse is the fastest and most reliable way to escape a fight.

“But what about the people who like to queue for stuff AND be in war mode?” I don’t care. You get no war mode bonus in follower dungeons and the queue is instant. Land in town, turn war mode off, and queue up. Ez pz.

Changes are made when people abuse systems. Remember when people were abusing the unstuck option when their hearthstone was on cooldown? Blizzard changed it to prevent further exploiting. The same thing can (and should) be done here.

I don’t think making war mode less convenient to stay in is going to help make war mode better.
A far better solution would be to just disable the ability to enter queues for certain content while in PvP (or any) combat.

War mode isn’t about convenience, it’s about combat. If anything, being in war mode is often inconvenient, and that’s the point.

As I stated in the post you quoted, follower dungeon queues are instant. That’s the whole reason why it’s become a problem, no? Therefore, there’s no reason not to take it away while in war mode. Because it’s literally on demand you can queue for one whenever you’re in the mood to do a dungeon.

Regular dungeon queues don’t need to be turned off because those have the investment of time. Follower dungeons are constantly at your fingertips. You want to queue for one, drop war mode. Ez pz.

You can’t be in combat and you can’t use them for a few seconds after PvP combat. Feign Death / Shadow Meld + Deepholm Pot doesn’t work.

What is this deepholm pot of which you speak? Does it literally teleport you to deepholm?

Cataclysm potion and yes, it does teleport you to Deepholm. It can’t be used in combat though and sometime in Dragonflight they made a change to it where you can’t use it even after combat, for a few seconds.

People used to use this if they were a nelf/hunter/rogue. Drop combat and use it, but seemingly can’t anymore.

Oh no, he took 2 loading screens to deny me that single bloody token… BAN HIM BAN HIM BAN THEM ALL BAN EVERYONE!

I think that’s taking it a bit too far. No one should get banned for it, I mean it’s just WPvP, but clowning on people for complaining about follower dungeons is a bit cringe buddy.

It should be fixed, really.

I don’t even see it as broken.
Running is worse than losing.

Well yes, but some people don’t care about that. Follower dungeons can be abused in different ways other than just running.

For instance, one I recall was a guardian druid who was very adamant on not losing the War Supply Crate. Several Horde on the crate, we were killing the Alliance as they dropped in, but this Guardian Druid would follower dungeon out on top of crate right before death. He’d spin, get low, follower dungeon. The NPCs inside the follower dungeon will instantly heal you to full health, you teleport out, and can go right back to fighting. This Guardian Druid? Would come back out right on top of crate to continue spinning.

We still got the crate, a death knight nearby just ended up death gripping him away from crate the moment he came out again, but man was it annoying. Dude just would not give up and it gave the Alliance who were killed time to res up and continue to try.

Just add in some dynamics that specifically address follower dungeons and joining them in combat or whatever; or even make it so you just cannot join a follower dungeon at all if you’ve done PVP within the last 10 minutes. Don’t think it would be all that difficult.

Maybe make it so that if you are warmode and attackable, follower dungeon are simply greyed out lol.

Who actually decides while they are fighting in PVP to just “join” a follower dungeon anyway without an intent to "escape"lol.

Sorry you can’t convince me he’s taking 2 loading screens and blocking an 8 second channel while navigating menus and taking ques and dpsing the boys at the same time. There comes a point where it doesnt make any sense, like how they put the chest right next to the graveyard

The queues can be automated via a macro. There’s macros out there that allow you to queue for a follower dungeon and leave it with the click of a button. You don’t need to navigate a menu.

And obviously, it wasn’t perfect; like I said, there were other Alliance nearby and him spinning it every now and then allowed other Alliance to resurrect and attempt to fight back. I will say though the dude must’ve had a fast computer because he disappeared fairly quickly when taking the queue.

My loading screens in general are a solid 8-10 seconds, this dude must’ve been about 3-4 seconds lol. But yeah, he ended up failing in the end. We got the crate but it took longer than it initially would’ve if he weren’t follower dungeoning.

Point is, there’s other ways to use follower dungeon that isn’t simply escaping.

The less convenient it is to play the game while in war mode, the less people will be in war mode.
It’s already harder to find groups for group quests or world raid bosses while in war mode. You already can’t group with most of the game’s population while in war mode for open world content.
Taking away the ability to queue for content will just lead to even more people turning war mode off permanetly.

Like I said, a simple solution is to not allow people to queue for things while in combat (or say for 15 seconds after being in combat). That would fix the problem.
