Was excited to hear we could buy the heroic versions of the delve trinkets. Ran a delve and discovered we need to gather yet another currency, untainted mana-crystals, just to buy the heroic trinkets! All those undercoins you earned? Useless for heroic trinkets. Oh, and they are capped, btw. Blizzard while you’re pruning things get rid of some of these currencies!

They just reset the currency at the start of the season though. So any undercoins you have were earned in the last couple months.
No, I mean what players already have. If you go back and one shot old content, you do not get current currency. Old stuff is to farm mounts and mogs, but we aren’t all interested in doing that.
Why? They suck and I’m tired of trinkets. That’s mostly all I get. I’ve seen too many useless trinkets in my Vault and it’s ridiculous.

Yes, because it is a terrible design choice to make it so you can transfer currency to automatically get Heroic gear quality immediately from previous seasons. Mind you, this is all happening during the current season as a “mid-patch” sort of a thing.
But these things are typically tested to see how folks interact with them and to see what can be done differently in future seasons. For better and worse.
But this is the type of design that folks should want, as it provides a deterministic way of obtaining gear that otherwise would be purely RNG-based, and yes … that means capping this currency as well.

It wouldn’t be WOW without ridiculous currency spam motivated by the deep fear of someone somewhere occasionally getting something without “earning” it by grinding away endlessly at inflated time-sinks.

They’re doing that for Housing, expansion specific vendors use gold and expansion specific resources for the items you can buy (BFA vendors use war resources for example)
See, one of the reasons I’m not interested in their Housing implementation.

If it makes you feel better, all the delve trinkets are bad and not worth using, especially now that you can easily get BiS trinkets from the dinars if you don’t have them yet.
I have no idea what made them think that adding a currency ONLY for delve trinkets was a good idea. Champ versions of dungeon/raid trinks are better, only thing thats lower is ilvl. Just let people buy armor too, at least with armor we can upgrade it to tier.
Wait - someone running delves this season didn’t already have multiple copies of all the, at best, meh delve trinkets?
I quit running delves weeks ago as I got nothing but one crap trinket after another, sometimes getting the same crap trinket from a map as I got from the regular end chest, then having it show up again in a vault slot.
Dangit, I hate when I have to play the game.

I’m of the opinion that if you do T9 delves and have the trinket vendor, the delves shouldn’t drop trinkets
