Yah the 6 month subscription mount and pet are a mount in Retail and a pet in Classic, but you can buy them separately in the store, and thats the only way you can get the pet in Retail, i mean, yah…

It definitely doesn’t feel great to have to buy the pet a second time, but I’m happy to see a Classic pet also available in Retail.

Classic Only Battle Pets/Mounts suck! I don’t play Classic and no amount of “Classic Only” stuff bribery is going to get me to start. I am a fairly serious Pet & Mount collector in Retail, so these items are a BIG slap in the face. And, NO!!!, I’m NOT going to go spend more money to buy another version of a pet you (supposedly) gifted to me! Seriously, why was this concept thought to be a good idea?

Someone who thought Classic players maybe should have a bone tossed to them at the same time.
Their sub money is as good as yours, after all.
Its just that the ones that are really into Classic dont care as much about pets as Retail players, and honestly there is no reason they couldn’t make these items available in both versions

I just don’t understand this now …the pet included with sub for the Lunar year can’t be used in Retail …but you can buy the same pet from the pet store and you can use it in Retail…Damn Blizzard you really breaking it off on us pet collectors now…

I guess once we progress to Classic MoP, that the Classic pet will then have battle pet abilities attributed to it. I wonder if they will be the same abilities as the Retail version.

To me its dumb to restrict this pet only to classic then make players that only play retail have to spend more money or gold to get the one for retail…its like stick your nose out of joint towards retail to me…

whats gonna make me cry is if they ever link the 2 versions, there is a Karazhan pet i never got that ill regret not playing Classic enough to get
My Classic guild thinks I’m a little daft for spending my time collecting the companions that currently exist in the Classic game b/c of that very possibility.
Honestly, I can’t wait.
I did not get on the Battle Pet train until 8.3 (very last patch of BfA). I wanted to hit exalted with Mechagon and Naz’jatar and had put it off, so the pet battle WQ rep was looking pretty sweet.
All those years. You know the alligator pets from BC? Toothy and the other two? Yeah, I fish a LOT, so I had all three–more than once–and sold them.
I never touched the battle pet system between MoP and BfA. So sad. I look forward to this new chance to do it again, starting with a boatload of pets right from the off.

i understand money is money, but do they have classic pet rankings?
if that can be proven they need to stop making classic only pets … same with mounts as i have friends focused on that collection
they pet has been from the start of these, which has irked me, from the start, as its pets i collect, not mounts.
