How can so many builds come out with no changes or feedback to us? People say wait or that we crying, but we been through this too many times. Same classes getting more changes and NEW talents. They will leave us with the same garbage talents we have not used in years and others getting new talents!? Crazy
Zero changes to holy paladin at all or its talent tree and it came out delayed! It is not whining when it is a clear bias thats gone on for years.
Dragonflight ptr coming out too so that means time is of the essence and its looking like we getting nothing but scraps again.
Call me crazy but I’ve been playing around with consecrated blade/exorcism on PTR and it’s kinda fun. Having sanctified wrath and final reckoning at the same time is also pretty awesome.
I know it’ll be doggy doo doo in PvP but the rotation has more buttons to press outside of the avenging wrath CD now.
I just want them to do something about the damn pony. More movement options are needed.
I’m not sure if you are just messing around on some target dummies, but these interactions are actually pretty awful when you consider Consecrated Blade requires AoW procs to use.
In actual play, you need to Auto Attack something, get an AoW proc, cast BoJ on an “off target” or you’re just casting another consecration at your feet… which is pretty meh.
On Paper it sounds good, but in actual play it’s going to be pretty unnoticeable. =/
I hear ya. Having consecration move with you would be neat. I just like how exorcism spreads the dot. Be even better if you didn’t need consecration to spread it all. I also hated that BoJ replaced exorcism in the first place.
I didn’t get to test it personally but if Consecrations can stack on one another (and proc Sanctification individually) then it wouldn’t be bad. There’s just a bunch of other problems.
Doesn’t matter how good the rotation is, or how much damage we do, if the core issues that are having a detrimental effect on paladins as a whole aren’t addressed the class is dead in the water.
We’ve given plenty of feedback and all of it is ignored. Just the fact we have things like 4 talent points for horse, trap talents like Seal of the Templar and Sanctified Ground, Justicar’s Vengeance still being in the talent tree, and Retribution Aura being an aura still is evidence enough that the paladin dev (if there even is one) has not even played the class let alone opened a single thread on the paladin class forum.
Pretty sure the entire intention of that talent is simply to make Consecration auto cast, instead of manually requiring to press it. Which is pretty much mandatory with Exorcism I’d imagine as currently Ret doesn’t have consistent free GCDs to keep Consecration up on live, and adding extra buttons simply means we’d have to delay our HP generators even longer to ensure that it is pressed.
I have to believe something is coming, but a “we hear you” would go a long way right now. Either that or tell us you’re happy with where the Pally trees are and either let us start choosing our new mains or walk away completely.
It’s weird because it doesn’t share cooldown or limit counts with the actual Consecration Spell, so you can have two down at any given time, but it still requires you to be auto attacking and procing Art of War in the first place.
So it’s a bit counter productive.
The mobs I’m auto attacking are probably the same ones I’m going to cast BoJ on 90% of the time, so you don’t really get to take advantage of the range of BoJ, or having 2 Consecrations down a bit apart.
Also, because it is tied to RNG of Art of War, chances are you will pair Exorcism up with your hard casted Consecration over waiting for this random proc anyways.
It doesn’t feel “surgical” and just feels like Consecrated Blade is just meter padding.
Do the two consecrations stack damage?
I mean irrelevant question really because you are essentially only having consecration down for the interactions and the damage is negligible.
Still curious though.
So the damage does stack in the sense that the mob is getting hit by 2 Consecrations at the same time, but they don’t join together into a single number.
They will just tick for 180 damage (x2) every .5 sec.
Yep, so two lots of nothing. So it basically makes it like the current rotation where you press it if you have literally nothing else to press (or in that case I guess if you had bad luck with no procs).
Does it proc off WoA when procced by AoW? Or was that also too hard for Blizzard?
If Seal of the Templar gave 6 yards on Auto Attack, CS, and TV, and while mounted, it increased that range to 12 yards, it would feel a lot better because it relies so heavily on Auto Attacking.
You’d have that increased range to make benefit on casting a Consecration at your feet and also at any target you’re struggling to keep up with.
Side Note: Seal of the Templar has this weird .25 sec GCD on it right now, so you can’t even mount on Divine Steed and instantly use that extra 3 yards to kick, as the buff doesn’t register quick enough, lol.
Thing is we’ll end up with the last laugh as paladin is the third most popular class. They’ll either be forced into a redesign or have to buff us through the roof.
Oh my sweet summer child. The only “buff” we’ll get after the backlash will be just enough to make us not terrible. Because people will come to the forums and say things like “well your class is on this parse so therefore you’re good.” Then blizz will pat themselves on the back and go off to think up more terrible changes for paladin.
The fact Blade of Justice is still a PHYSCIAL damage ability with ZERO benefit from our mastery for 3 almost 4 xpacs is proof.
You understand exactly what will happen, the buff will come in dmg and the playstyle and the class as a whole will just be unfun. Im hoping that at somepoint we get a full rework but i feel like wow will shut down before paladins are allowed to be fun to play.
