Another Bad Take on Dinars for Your Consideration

Tie the Dinar System to the Great Vault

  • Unlocking Three Loot Choices in your vault. Any Three, does not have to be a full row, grants you a Shard. You do not get additional shards by unlocking 6 or 9 items in the vault. By not taking an item out of your vault, you can elect to take a second shard.

  • You can combine 4 shards into a Dinar. Then you can use the dinar to buy One item from the vendor.

  • In order for the vendor to unlock, you must clear every dungeon in the season at mythic difficulty or higher and complete the raid. Fully clearing a Difficulty in the raid unlocks the corresponding track on the vendor.

  • Achieving a M+ Score Unlocks a Track. Not sure what that would be. 1700io champ? 2100 Heroic, 3100 Mythic? No idea what would be good here. Just something to keep it fair for High End M+ players to get access to the Mythic Raid items.

  • Unlocks are account wide.

  • The vendor will have raid and mythic+ items on it.

  • The dinar acquisition Unlocks the second reset after heroic/mythic raid opens.

  • While I am sure there are many flaws with this system. What it basically does, is lets you choose one piece of loot, every two weeks, if you dont get an upgrade you want in your vault. But, if your vault is generous, you may have to wait 3 or 4 weeks to get an item.

I know this most likely will feel bad to the players running only Normal raid. Where they can take Champ track gear from vault, or wait a second reset to take a heroic item. But, it is letting the player decide if they want to wait for that heroic item next week. Or take the champ upgrades and get the heroic item in 3 more resets. But, it puts that decision in the hands of the player, and it is deterministic. Meaning, that the player knows they are going to get a specific item that they want, and they know when they can obtain it.

The weekly quests, could have a shard added to them at some point in the patch, to increase the potential item gain.

Additionally, I think that allowing pieces to be upgraded to the next tier would need to be added. Possibly by using the crest system. By buying one of the appropriate Crafting Crests, you can simply use it on a fully upgraded item, Veteran, Champion, Heroic to move it to the next tier.

That takes away some of the pain of not wanting to buy a Cham/Heroic item, in case you can later get the mythic. But, also it puts a little friction in there, so you do still have to work for it.

Hopefully the kind, good looking, measured and rational people of General Discussion forum can add to the discourse on this.

***After feedback It is clear that the lockout thing is a horrible idea. So I am changing the post, for Normal to Unlock Normal, Heroic to Heroic ect. But, with an upgrade system, where by clearing Heroic, you can now upgrade your Champ Dinar item to Heroic at cost.

I thought a similar system might be nice, have the items cost 6 Tokens of Merit for a chip, so many chips can be redeemed for a choice item on the dinar system. Then if Blizzard trully feels there needs to be something to hault the upgrade process put in a caplock at Myth 2 (Hero 6/6) then once you do that objective you can unlock the last of the upgrade track.

Even if this system only started after the .5 patch it would still be a nice way to round out the last of the tier system

tl;dr you just want free loot.

The Vault was such a massive mistake on Blizzard’s part. All it did is open the floodgates for the “you gave us an inch, now we demand a mile” people.

You know what’s easier than your convoluted way to get loot from content you don’t do? Just do the content.

I got a sick idea for Dinars. What if, when you killed a boss it dropped items? And that was your loot. That was what you got.

I think it’s just a bit over-thought and probably a bit too rewarding. Clearing Heroic unlocks mythic track? Seems probably a bit too powerful.

But if it existed I’d participate in it.

They could remove the Dinar system and vault systems tomorrow and I would still play. I am ok getting whatever gear drops from the content I do.

Currently that exists and the normal loot progression path. But, with the addition of dinars, they have created a system for bad luck protection.

And you seem pretty stuffy about this for being 1500io and 1/8h on your main. Im not that much better across all my toons, but you seem unreasonably standoffish about it.

So… you who are proging mythic raid and have a 3k io score. You are hitting that top end content. You dont want any bad luck protection?

I agree with this. I know for certain I am not stepping into the mythic raid. Fully upgraded heroic items are usually my ceiling.

I just feel there should be a deterministic way to get some items. Whatever that may be.

way too convoluted. we have that already.

while lfr heroes can get hc items, hardworking raiders who work on their mythic bosses will get nothing kek.
By the time they get some season will end.
I think that’s the most crucial part. Let us pick w/e we want. It is just 3 slots anyway.

People who are against idea, you don’t have to say anything. We know your parents didn’t do a good job and dropped you on your heads.

I’m over 2700io and 8/8H. There is this thing you can do; it’s called playing multiple characters.

Yeah no. Just stop.

lol no.

You don’t.

Your idea is terrible.

You already can? The current system is fine.

Don’t start this again, Snozy.
Pure trolling at its best. I really dc about you defend this nonsense.
Majority hates it, it is a disaster.
Read the early patch notes, it was not going to be like this.
I think I am going to start to ignore blizzfanlads.

Which is objectively a good thing, just to lay the ground rules. Bad luck protection should have been in every aspect of the game from classic day 1.

You realise you have to complete that boss on mythic difficulty to receive its loot table in the vault so making it so you just get the mythic loot from completing the heroic raid makes no sense, its a bad luck protection system not a free hand me out.

They don’t want the bad luck protection system, they want the hand me outs of Dragonflight season 4.

Tell us you have no responsibilities without telling us you have no responsibilities.

I’m not starting anything. I asked you a simple question.

Disagreeing isn’t trolling.

The majority here made assumptions and can’t comprehend this isn’t a meme season so the expectation of getting mythic BiS items was dumb.

You do realize everything on ptr is subject to change. They changed it because they realized giving people who don’t mythic raid free mythic BiS pieces was bad for the game.

Translation equals “I can’t refute points at all.”

You do realize the majority of people that mythic raid also have real life responsibilities and that’s just a major excuse right?

Can people just play the game instead of asking Blizzard to mail Mythic gear to them?

Yea, it used to be a joke, but with the M+ players… Yikes.

I feel like us getting crafted gear to 675 + tier and trinkets to 665 or 678 (based on vault luck) ain’t bad personally. I don’t think it’s too hard to get to that stage.
