Today senior game designer for Blizzard came out and announced that current production of the game has came to a halt due to the recent lawsuit. You know what that means? Yet another major delay for shadowlands when it comes to releasing content.
Who knows how much actually came to a stop but the fact that they came out and said that world of Warcraft is not currently being worked on should really be a major concern. I don’t think people have it in them to wait another 7 or more months for 9.2
we will have to see how this ends up playing out but expect another big delay in the game. What do you guys plan on doing if it does end up taking this long for new content?

I expect a long drought again…I have a feeling there’s gonna be key players on this team that seek employment elsewhere, which will slow things down big time.
I’ve played dead games (as in, no more development/balance/updates) but I’ve never played a “dead” mmo before, so not sure what to expect, or how players handle are going to handle that.
If anything, I will just take a long break, and play more tennis with my sisters
i think games suck these days for the most part, so not really looking for one either atm. I just want this game to not suck.
I won’t mind taking a break after awhile if it means justice eventually is done. Guilty or Not Guilty, I just want this done in court proper.

I skipped four expansions before I came back to Shadowlands. I’ll be fine.

It’s also been like 4 days since this news broke. It’s not like we’re 3 months post-Bloomberg article and wow devs are saying there is still no work being done on development.

Man, people were memeing about another 8 month drought before this, now that it’s an actual possibility…
9.2 will probably be delayed yes. But by now they were probably almost done with it. The real test will be 10.0
We are getting a 9.1.5 first and those mid patches aren’t super content heavy. Like there’s usually new stuff and stories, but not as big as a major patch with a zone and raid/dungeon. I don’t think in any scenario that one will take 7-8 months. It’s probably almost ready for the PTR by now.
9.2 is going to be awhile in any case. Even in a best case it won’t be till the end of this year. But the dev halt only just now started. I’d only be concerned if it really went on for a significantly longer time. That’s when the game will start to feel it. For the moment it’s fine, there’s no real damage.
If it did go to a crazy delay again, I don’t know. Personally I’m sure I’d still be here. I’ve survived every other content drought. But it’s kind of not good to do this a second time after 9.1.
Well this pretty much confirms Shadowlands being the worst expansion of all time.
People said WoD had no content … “Shadowlands: Hold my Beer”

I expect this to end like WoD. Maybe one more raid then donezo
Yeah regardless of an eventual lockout there’s going to be a lot of employee shuffling. A major delay is inevitable.
It was probably going to be the case no matter what was going on, they were already behind when it came to 9.1 to begin with and it was still pushed out too soon judging from the response it’s gotten.
Now they just have something to play victim behind while they do nothing as usual.
They got their world first race and they don’t care now, same ol same ol.
With all this I wouldn’t be surprised if we get stuck with shadowlands for longer than expected. Whatever is planned to come after SL is going to be pretty awful if they’re planning to keep on track(which I seriously doubt).
I dont think we should expect 9.3 with all the current delays.

i would for see a year delay at this point. i guess the game is functional till at least renown 80. but since this expansion i have only been really doing pvp, if the groups stop forming the actual content of the game will be unplayable.
could always work on a few alts, get transmog/ farm old raids for mounts and pets. but more likely, Guild Wars 2 could be interesting, recently started a character over there. and there is the new Pokemon unite game, which actually tics one of the itch boxes for pvp content.
Good content is more important than more content. and until this is sorted out favorably for the employees etc, it would seem impossible for anything good to be produced.
They honestly can not afford another super long delay in patch cycles. They are already going to be stuck in SL (a rather unpopular expansion) for longer than normal. It it is another 8+ months they better get ready for another wave of subscriptions being cancelled in about 5 months.
