Another 3-Week Timegate?

Horrific Visions was already gated by 4-weeks, and now there’s an additional 3-week timegate on it to fully unlock its associated talent tree?

…Why a 7-week timegate on this patch feature? -_-

I was wondering what the timeframe would be on this. Don’t really understand their aversion to just letting people play the content. It’s not like this stops people from getting the top rewards (we can’t, because you can’t unlock all 8 masks until having seen both Stormwind and Org) or the enchants (because those can be done this week even if you have to take it slower). A number of collectibles also require pieces from both visions so those were already going to take at least two resets.

It’s nice being able to run them infinitely but stuff like this is just unnecessary.

You don’t need the full tree unlocked to complete HVs lol. Especially not with our “Turbo Boost” item levels.

Possibly it depends on how its tuned back in BFA we also has ‘some’ broken azerite powers to carry us so we’ll see what happens. I must say though I do tire of timegates especially on what is old content.

Do you have to grind horrific visions on all characters for the enchant? Or do alts get it for free after you do it on main. I haven’t looked into this new content at all

Timegated, recycled. And once it arrives, it is timegated anew.

One of the features of the patch was “Check the calendar!”

5-mask on PTR with 668 ilvl felt pretty “normal” to me compared to doing 5-mask in BFA, except I had half the talents on PTR instead of all of them, so 8-mask will likely feel about the same or slightly easier at 674.

Pretty sure once you do each quest once, you can buy them on any character. I can’t remember if the currency is warband-transferrable or if the items are warbound, though.

New masks add bolstering and teeming to the visions

The videos I have watched seem to indicate almost everything about them is warbound including progress on the talent tree and access to the enchants. So if I spam my druid main today I can purchase enchants and send them to all my alts.

Looking at the tree in-game, it looks like this may only be a one-week gate. The perks which have a time requirement stated just say “VisionsWeek2” (likely a leftover internal string that wasn’t translated properly), but the perks below that have nothing listed except the currency. Not nearly as bad considering we can’t even get Org until next week anyways.

Oh good more time gating whining :joy:

It’s like you guys don’t know how mmo games work

Update on this: There is no time-gating. Once you buy the entire first row of perks, the next two rows unlock. Although the guy isn’t offering me the option to buy more currency, so I don’t actually understand if maybe I need to progress the quests more? This is actually not clear at all.

The one thing missing on here is the Gift of the Titans buff, which was present on PTR. That one might be time-gated, but is more of a nice bonus than anything needed.

Oh the horror… how dare they slow your progress to allow other players the time to catch up and to allow their devs the time they need to work on the next update.

Get over it already. There will always be timegates and the reasons will always be the same. Accept the fact and live with it.

If I log in in 8 weeks, can I unlock everything all at once, or am I trapped doing the weeklies, you know, once per week.

That is, is there going to be some quest or event each week that opens up, and if I do them now, I can do one per week, and in 7 weeks they’re all done.

In contrast to not doing any of it, coming back in 8 weeks, and when I finish the first quest, I find the next one ready and waiting and I can just chain them all in one go.
