Annulet very underwhelming

Honestly, why am I going to spend hours chasing rares when I already have 2 good rings and I have no desire to play a stone lottery especially after already having AOTC and KSM. I really hope it gets buffed for others that are pushing late because right now it’s just meh at best especially for such a huge time sink.

  1. It’s better than what you have
  2. If you don’t like it, then just don’t use it. This thread sounds like you just wanted to complain.

yep. saw lack of secondaries and i’ll probably end up getting rid of it at some point. really useless system.

Actually I’m hoping they buff it and if you look at my DH in armor, it is no where close better than what I currently have, maybe in 2 or 3 weeks after upgrades, but chasing random stones, haven’t they learned their lesson about RNG on stuff like this? Just put the stone vendor in at the beginning so ppl can gear what they need. Or just argue with me here and think i’m complaining and see how much it’s interacted with in game and who is right…either way you are right, doesn’t effect me regardless so I won’t discuss it anymore lol

Source? Because every sim under the sun says they are hot garbage and got an emergency 25% hotfix buff that still won’t put them above rings 15 IL below it.

What’s this statement based on?

Blizzard has kinda trapped themselves here because if they make it too strong to actually be BiS for everyone (their stated goal) then they will have to have to make these cantrip effects completely bonkers. Which means in order for them to no longer be BiS for everyone throughout Season 2 they would then have to nerf them to the ground in 10.1, which would feel bad and largely negate the purpose of having the rings at all.

As a reference, for Fire mage, a ring with ideal stats at 392 is VASTLY better than this ring at 424.

Think about how much it would need to be buffed to be good for them.

then… don’t do it?

you and i both know that wow players cant just not do something. Did bfa and badowlands teach you nothing?

You are right actually, quite a few of my guildies and I have no desire to engage in this system. And I’m guessing anyone with a ring that has a higher ilvl than 415 probably won’t either. So sadly, dev time wasted that could have been used, you know, fixing classes that still need attention, i.e. guardian druid/havoc dh just to name a few to start. Anyways, here we are, so doesn’t matter anyways. I’m sure some peeps will engage and good for them, I just really hope Blizzard gets the bang for the buck they spent!

So is it that
“The ring is not good”
or
“My endgame gear that I spent months getting and upgrading is better than easily acquired world content that I got by right clicking on it.”

Blizzard is the one who said this ring was going to be so awesome that EVERYONE would want it. So yes, I did expect that when that’s how they present it to me. I have spent god knows how many hours grinding raid/m+, so having an easy win for once would have been nice, especially at the end of a tier when it doesn’t mean jack crap. Sorry I used common sense to advocate something to be as it was advertised! lol

I mean it’s just supposed to be a neat catchup ring i don’t know what people expected.

It was specifically stated that it was supposed to be every classes BIS until 10.1, not just a catchup ring

The fact that you haven’t responded to anyone asking for a source means you’re trolling. Also #source? Cause I’d also love to know.

I’m so confused by all this. Was Ion just lying?

I looked through all specs on Wowhead’s new “Best primordial gems for all classes” guide and I think

  • Sin / outlaw rogues
  • WW monks
  • Feral druid

were the only guides that said this ring was worth gearing up/upgrading. The rest of the specs all had some variation of “if you have a 400-415 itemized ring don’t bother with the annulet” and some specs even went as low as 375-390 item level rings were better.

Caveat: one or two of the tank specs said defensively some of the gems might be good, but most still pointed out Eranog/Diurna rings as superior.

The big red flags on this ring are A) the lack of secondary stats and B) a lot of the gem procs are single target, so in any AoE situation the rings are just useless.

I don’t think he was lying, I think they just missed the mark

I personally think they should just add secondary stats as it would immediately become BIS for every spec

Then they can disable the sockets in 10.1 so it’s no longer OP

So you think the next patch will make them better?
