Annual Scourge invasion?

This could be a low effort event you guys could add to actually give something to the Era community. An annual scourge invasion on the anniversary of its release. Shorter than in classic, maybe just two weeks.

I imagine that most of us are out of scourgestones or very low at this point. Many are likely playing alts or characters they did not farm enough of these on to use. It would also be nice to have a chance for these alts or characters to obtain their undead slaying sets.

This would probably bring about some fun world pvp, and maybe even spark some interest in tbc players to return for those two weeks to farm. The only real downside I would see is that some would be offended that their tabard is no longer as unique. You could make it unobtainable, or those of us that have it could just get over that.

One thing we know at this point, is that if Era players ask for nothing. We will get just that. Which is mostly what we want. To be left alone, but an annual scourge invasion has little downside in my opinion.

100% agree with this idea! I would love to collect this set on my toons that weren’t yet even created during the original Scourge Invasion. Please consider implementing an annual invasion for Classic Era!!

Total agreement here!

Based on feedback I’ve heard from CE players, this addition would be universally popular. I also think it would require very little investment to add.

Still have over 100 Oils left. You should’ve grinded more. Do you want them to do seasonal AQ gates opening too?

And people who want the BoEs can just transfer them over from SoM when the season comes to an end.

I have 160 but still can understand that some people were not high enough level or not playing at all yet. Also, it’s should have.

I wouldn’t mind it except the mount shouldn’t be available.

2/3 of the set pieces are BOP. The BOEs alone are nearly useless without the bonus.

I think this is a great idea! I missed out on the Nax release in CE, so it would be fun to experience this event. It would also be a great event to play every year with some meaningful rewards available.

Bump for interest. This would be cool! Let’s see those Scourge Crystals spawn around Azeroth again!

Good on you.
I like consistency.
Have a like and I agree.

Please Blizzard, we need this in the game. It would help out both new and old players so much.

I’ve posted exactly this previously:

You know – the people who are playing Classic Era.

I think it’s an awful idea that makes no sense.

Any release of a fresh Classic is a single replay of everything that happens in this version of the game. You want to turn Kel’Thuzad into Santa Claus or something and the Gates of AQ into the coming of the Easter Bunny.

I think you may be confused. This thread is discussung the possibility of an annual Scourge Invasion for Classic Era, a separate game from Season of Mastery.

Happy Turkey Day bump

Why not? You mention “fresh” so I assume you are not playing in Classic Era. If that is the case, why are you concerned?

Since the server is being wiped, maybe the last day make it so if you die you are stuck being undead until the server goes down.

You may be confusing Classic Era with SoM. Rather than being wiped, Classic Era servers are permanent and never progress beyond what was phase 6 in Classic Vanilla.

Since there has never been a version of WoW without progression before, there is no precedent for whether or not it is proper to repeat events. In the case of the Sourge Invasion, a year after the first invasion, TBC was already out and a repeat would have been pointless.

Classic Era is in a way the most uncharted territory for any version of WoW right now. Whatever rules usually are in place should be reconsidered for CE.

Come’on Blizzard! Put Scourge back on the menu for ol’Teremous the Devourer. He needs to vary his diet from critters and lowbies.
