i hate’em. hate these frikkin things. i’m just taking a flightpath from revendreth, to bastion… it’s the same expansion, why is there a loading screen???
seems unnecessary… i get it, different assets, but still, it’s really annoying…

It’s no different than when you took a ship between Kalimdor and EK in Vanilla.
I never see a loading screen when traveling to other SL zones. I have a pretty fast internet connection though, and perhaps that is the reason.

Pretty sure you only get a loading screen from oribos to another SL zone if your computer (or maybe monitor?) Can’t process the fancy warp hole graphics.
I see it sometimes too if I tab out to open another page while I’m on the flight path.

I mean it’s a little different. Each unique zone including the main city in SL is it’s own instance. It’s dumb

There shouldn’t be one? That’s why they built the In-Between wormhole for flightpaths so they could avoid loading screens. I’ve never had one on a flight, only teleporations.
But if you have the money to spare have you considered upgrading your computer with an SDD drive? It obliterates loading screens with how fast it runs things.

A fast SSD helps a bit.
Of course if they just put the zones next to each other like the game did for the last 17 years we wouldn’t have most of them at all.

Shadowlands really does a poor job of making the world seem like a world.
I get that it’s supposed to be thematic and each one is a different realm or whatever, but they are so small they feel like islands instead of different realms of the afterlife.
I’ve never seen a load screen on the FP though. Just the warp tunnel thing.

see, that’s why i’m getting the loading screens, but it’s still stupid. i should be able to tab-out, do some googlin, and tab back-in without having to go ‘oh wait, the game still has to load the world as if i just logged in’.
I am guessing you have a older system/slower internet. I never see them. I only get loading screens when using portals or ships.
Or that annoying one between EPL and Ghostlands

I am another who can’t recall loading screens going between shadowland zones on flight paths. They do occur when I use portals.
I think legit it’s your load times- are you still using a mechanical hard drive?
The in-between is a loading screen in disguise.
OP, are you referring to the in-between, or a screen with a portrait and progress bar?
I just hate that the flights are so long between zones I can actually go afk.
I had hoped those days were behind us. Especially since expansion areas are so small these days.

Yeah and 9.1 isn’t doing anything to make it better. I’m not falling for the 6-month sub trap again.
Never once seen a loading screen on a FP from one zone to another. Even when I do get one from doing other things in the game its never one the screen longer than 1-2sec. Sounds like you may need a PC upgrade.
They did advise you to get a SSD for Shadowlands.

I may be wrong but he may be calling the area between zones where we portal on our magnificent flying serpent in the great beyond, a loading screen.
I call that area my zen zone.
