You have just described LIFE! This attitude permeates all consumption… media, sports, food, entertainment, and unfortunately politics.
I first encountered this attitude with music as a teen. There was always someone telling me why I shouldn’t like a band or the latest album by some band. They’d always couch their opinion in a cloak of superiority. I noticed the same with novels, then TV shows, and movies.
Heck, on any given weekend at sports stadiums and sport bars across the country (or world), there are countless people in attendance who do NOT like the given sport. They are just afraid to be SEEN as not liking the sport.
I used to play this game with a former coworker. I’d see the latest movie or streaming series then go to him on Monday morning and ask why “I shouldn’t have liked it!” There will always be someone somewhere who doesn’t like something, and they’ll try to convince everyone that their dislike is the “correct opinion.” It’s probably been like this before we were born, and it will continue after we are long dead.

I’ve said this in quite a few threads, too.
Disliking the gameplay is different from the gameplay not being there.

I like the event but I’m not getting currency for anything except instanced content. I did stories, mounts, baloon achievements and fashion for 4 hours and only got 3 coins for completing the weekly thing.
Most of the coins are from regular weekly content unaffiliated with the 20th anniversary event. The event itself is mostly for fun, besides the instanced stuff. I’m on 44 atm. Won’t be doing the arena ones.

That’s unfortunate of an experience. I as a new player am having a great time with the event. I just wish I could do more for the tokens. I saw a cool transmog set I want.
It’s freaking amazing for alts and gearing them up, the rest is kind of debatable.
What if for the anniversary they gave us housing and were like “SURPRISE” housing everyone! We love you so much community have a house! AND YOU GET A HOUSE, AND YOU TOO GET A HOUSE, EVERYONE GETS A HOUSE! WOoooooooOOOoooOOOOoooo!!!

No, you don’t understand how Blizzard works.
They get MONSTER TSUNAMIS of feedback on the PTR/Beta explaining “Hey, this isn’t fun” and ignore it.
They double down on it and post an article praising how generous they’re being.
Then they make us suffer for 80% of the event.
Suddenly, when people haven’t actually been participating in it like they expected and their MAU metric is falling, they suddenly post that they’ve “listened to feedback” and buff things.
And people eat it up every single time, instead of calling them out for it.

Yeah the tunning is bad, people need to be over geared for the difficuylty to complete it, so in the end they will not need anything out of the raid anyway lmao.
Is this something new or exclusive to the event? nope.
Anything related to real life currency is OPTIONAL except monthly game subscription, if you’re talking about new brutosaur or anything else the shop has to offer.
Chill, the event will go for another 2 months!

Don’t ever ask that question, not in LFR.
I did LFR without knowing any of the fights. Got through just fine by not standing in bad stuff.
Might wanna check people’s armory/data for azeroth before throwing shade, I have played since vanilla. A LOT.
