With some Trading Card Game items coming back for Twitch stream drops during the pre-patch phase two, Dragonflight launch, and a week or two around the holidays, that leaves me wondering what kind of event and - more importantly - rewards Blizzard has planned for World of Warcraft’s eighteenth anniversary… I can already see the increased vitriol if it doesn’t meet and/or exceed these Twitch drops, or if the event doesn’t have new rewards or even happen at all given it will be right around the time of the expansion’s launch.
I don’t really think they’ll do anything big, likely just a pet for logging in or something like that, like theyve done in the past, maybe something small extra.
Waiting for some inappropriate comment about how WoW is legal now

Since WoW is turning 18, the anniversary events should revolve around it now being old enough to purchase tobacco and pornography.

18th anniversary is kind of meh. It is the appliances year after all.
Now the 20th anniversary should be something special. I’d an all expenses paid trip to Blizz HQ for having 20 years of uninterrupted subscription 
That would be amazing! Maybe get a group photo of all of those who’ve put in that much time.
And before anyone asks, yes I will be playing for the next 2 years.

What did they do for the 17th anniversary again? That is what will happen for the 18th. The next big anniversary will be the 20th.

The XP/rep buff lasted until 6 December. I doubt they would let it last that long this time…but I wouldn’t complain if they did.
Let’s see, invasions that destroy us,bugs,system shut downs,dc’s and did I mention bugs,no real gifts<repeated bad gear. And you call that an anniversary?
That’s one of the reasons I’m wondering what this year’s event will be as it will start before the launch and end after.
For fun we should get the old Deathwing letter that we kept receiving for years after Cataclysm.

Devs will probably use the same anniversary event that last year, same as Hallow’s end with 0 updates…Not even the game anniversary receives something interesting like a new questline…
