There’s a ton of anger amongst the community right now, let’s use this opportunity to vent your anger constructively.
I ask those of you, players and devs alike, to voice your displeasure constructively below… Make sure you take the time to think it through though, don’t go answering out of sheer reactive instinct.
Alright, go!
Me? I’m not so much angry about story but more so gameplay, even then, it’s an annoyance and not real anger.
I kind of wish we had more to do in the realm of progression outside of gear and skill optimisation. I would be happy having more to do in the world, slice of life stuff or building something that allows to express some character identity, cough cough, player housing, cough cough.
Instanced content is overrated and I’m kinda tired that all the good content has to be instanced, breathe some life into the world.
I don’t think it’s anger. I think the community feels ignored and Blizzard keeps changing the game into something most people don’t like so it’s like slowly watching something you’ve invested your life into for the last 17 years slowly die and become something that is almost unrecognizable. The fact that Blizzard ignores most feedback makes players apathetic and disconnected and alienated which in turns just manifests itself in what we see here in the forums or streams. The worst thing is that even when people have legit concerns or ideas for the game and they post them in the forums, they know they will most likely be ignored anyway. When you are in an anger management class, you have to try to figure out your triggers and how to remove them from your life or deal with them healthy, but in this case, that’s almost impossible since we are constantly immersing ourselves in those very triggers and Blizzard doesn’t care about its gamers or community, they care about money.
Eventually the time will come when these forums are quiet and empty, and then maybe finally Blizzard will hear us.
The title, more than anything, is an eye catcher, unfortunately in order to direct people to something, you kinda need a snappy title or post that is slightly riling.
Can’t say as I am really angry, not proper angry in any event. More suffering from a general irritability, I am.
I’ve actually enjoyed the patch quite a lot but I know that’s not going to last. Eventually the new content will dry up and then it will just be week after week of waiting for gates to open to feel anything like a sense of progression while the gameplay grows as stagnant as the story.
There’s a ton of sound and fury but not really a whole lot seems to really be happening, and it’s just so very blatant that we’re being strung along for subscription fees at this point and there does not seem to be anything like a satisfying end in sight.
It feels like I’m stuck in the lousy prequels to a much more interesting and gratifying series that does not exist anymore (and perhaps never did.)
I’m not angry - not happy - not feeling much of anything about the game right now. It’s going to ok for the next little bit with the new content but that’s about it. As for the community at large, I think they will be who they are - sometimes happy, sometimes not, sometimes like me “meh”.
Games not dead yet and even if I take off for a while, I’m just one person - and I’ll always be keeping one eye open for a new patch or the next expansion (which I hope dedicates much more to the open world, which is what I like best).
It’s not incredibly rare, in fact, out of all the responses to this thread (so far) only two are outwardly, unreasonably negative — yours. Come now, you need to check yourself.
Let’s review. This is an anecdote - we have the OP’s rather cheerful opening post.
Your post - basically saying all of wow’s players are incapable of measured criticism.
Then another poster gives measured criticism.
Another poster gives some helpful tips
Next three posters make a couple of fun jokes
Next poster shares their views in a measured way
Next poster makes a harmless joke
Next poster gives their views - again, in a measured way
Another harmless joke
I’m next and tell you not to be so pessimistic.
Guy after me says basically the same.
And then you say it’s rare to see any measured criticism.
I mean of all these posts, the only outwardly hostile ones which denigrated the community as a whole, are, ironically, yours. So, yeah, check yourself.
