Okay, so I went to Stormwind Keep, and noticed Anduin was King. You said you were bringing in Classic, so why is it Anduin instead of Varian as it should be? This seems like a bug. If this is intended, why?
Varian was in prison on a island and Anduin was a child during Vanilla. Highlord Bolvar Fordragon led the Alliance then.
What Scald said, Anduin was the child king, if you know where to look, iirc you can find King Varian with a very different old model where he is being held. I don’t remember where, I just remember my guild doing a mission to find him as a guild event thing way back when cause we were super bored lol.

Do you like not know the lore? There is even a quest chain IN THE GAME that explains why Varian is not there in Stormwind. The chain is called “The missing diplomat”
Just because you are ignorant to the story does not mean it is a bug.
