So Ion has given an interview saying the plan is for Anduin to step down as King of Stormwind.
My immediate reactions is…just no. Anduin isn’t a perfect character but the constant shifting leadership of the Horde didn’t really work out from a story perspective. Why try to do this now to the Alliance?
I rather keep Anduin as King even if he’s so broken that he just wanders around the castle in pajamas unable to govern.

There is nothing in that article that indicates he is stepping down from the throne.
It only indicates he will be gone for a short while.
Sounds cool to me. And makes sense for his character. He expressed some pretty big frustration to Genn after Sylvanas’s judgement. He’s been in a leadership position of some kind since he was literally a child and has gone through some really harrowing stuff. Poor guy needs a break.

Just be thankful… if Anduin was a leader of the Horde he would have been turned into a raid boss and killed off, instead he goes on a walk about for a few days and will come back a demi-god or some such garbo.
Anduin will marry Wrathion and become the queen of black dragonflight.

Anduin is a sweet boy and I love him, but he is no leader. He should step down as king and come back and stick around as council when he’s ready. As long as the horde exists, the alliance and the rest of the world isn’t safe. Peace is always temporary.
Good, he’s done nothing as a king. Maybe with a real man on the throne, hopefully Turalyon, we get an Alliance with some hair on its chest.
Of course he’s ‘stepping down’ You need at least one expac for Turalyon to go mad with the Light so that new and improved Balanced Anduin can swoop in and save the day in whatever comes after Dragonflight.
I see a bad scenario to come when there are those that would cause mistrust ,ah the cycle begins again.

I can’t imagine this Anduin going through what Saurfang went through in Outland with the Draenei. He’d kill himself.
Him stepping down is incredibly forced and makes little sense. But maybe it was done because too many people here complained, now they don’t want him to go.
This would’ve been a good opportunity to have another race lead the Alliance (not sitting in stormwind). But nooooo, Turalyon now will lead it.
I agree with this statement but their idea of giving him a break is having him jump into to Maw with Sylvanas to do soul dailies until they decide to bring them back into the main story in two or three years. That’s not exactly a break. He has no responsibility to help her fix what she did. It’s all on her and they’re making him sympathetic to the woman who did all this to him. Hell even the half of her soul that got thrown back into her knows she deserves this. It’s why she is dedicated to it. Sure she’s whole now so let her go fix the mess she made. Why does he have to do it too? He’s been through enough. “Her crimes….are unforgivable.” She knows her road to redemption may never happen but she’s gonna do what it takes to at least give those souls their proper rest. Throwing Anduin into it makes no sense.
At least your leaders don’t die. Count your blessings.
I already said in another thread that Andy and Sylvie will hook up in the Maw and have babies. We will see 
There’s something there ,maybe tied to the story of dragonflight or the light he needs to find . The main true reason for everything that has happened.
