You trash talk them, you rush them by running ahead and pulling, and then you get mad and kick them when they let you die because of your idiocy. Then you complain about waiting a long time in que. Playing a tank is just insulting, you complain about not being enough of them and yet you treat them like garbage because they aren’t catering to your needs.
It’s a good thing sane Tanks play with their guilds and / or friends.
Simple solution, don’t do queable content. Much nicer in mythic+.
Not really. You get just as bad of horror stories in M+ as you do in heroics.
You who???
Every role gets trash talked and unfairly kicked and otherwise disrespected from time to time. That’s just the typical antics of the average WoW community in queued content.
I am rolling a warrior main tuesday. I plan to learn to tank and take on the role. I will be interested to see if all this toxicity is real, or as bad as people make it out to be.
Well thanks for your time to write this op. Im sorry you had a bad experience in a dungeon. Perhaps its best you dont tank anymore as it seems stressful for you.
I think most people know why at this point. But yes I think what most good tanks do is surround themselves with friends. PUGS are bad in general in this game, but probably the worst for tanks as everyone wants you to lead, then backseat drive while you are doing it. And god forbid there is a wipe…
It honestly isn’t as bad as OP is making it out to be, I’m constantly leveling new tanks… I don’t know why, but only issues I’ve ran into are group of friends who(rarely ever happens) will just vote kick for maybe… running a different way they are used to or something silly like that. I just wait for loading screen and requeue.
or really any game, especially for support (and healers in particular, it’s even a meme).
Much like anything else people related, it is going to vary depending on the day. In legion I would go weeks without a single rager doing queue content daily, then I would hit a day where every group had at least one muppet.
Ignore them, tank away and always let the mages die, it’s required of any self respecting tank
M+ also has a timer and there’s additional pressure to know which packs to skip and which route to go. I never minded tanking time walking or M0, but tanking M+ is cancer when you are starting out especially late in the expansion.
This is why i hate healing/tanking dungeon content since legion. It is a terrible mechanic to force people into rushing and it makes people to do/find Stupid ways to cheese things.
As far as trash talking, that has been around since the beginning of wow. People are just like that. It happens to every role, like mentioned above: If you cant handle the stress find a guild or reroll, no one really cares tbh.
Yeah I hope they relegate it to some tournament or challenge mode and leave M+ alone. The speed meta is a big wall of entry for new players or players that want to go slow.
it wasn’t this horrible back in wrath when you’d have to manually form a group for the daily heroic quest. then it all slid downhill when everyone wanted their frost badges from the dungeon finder
Yeah, people were pretty much forced to be nice or they’d find themselves blacklisted if enough people got fed up with them. Honestly, tangible consequences for being a jerk would do this game a world of good.
I’m perfectly willing to tank a fair amount of content. The one thing I refuse to do, however, is LFR. I’ve never had a problem with heroics specifically because I usually assume everyone is going to run ahead and just blast through everything as fast as possible, but LFR is a whole separate animal.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate LFR as a concept. I think it’s a great way to get people who don’t necessarily want to put the time in to see the content, and it’s a pretty good way to gear out alts. However, LFR can be such a horrible experience when you have a few people who refuse to communicate, and I’ve taken the blame for things that were absolutely not my fault (namely several incidents with orb running and taunt swapping on G’huun and complete lack of communication on Orgozoa). I usually reach out to my other tank to try to develop some sort of quick strategy when I get in, but it’s a crapshoot whether said tank is even going to read my messages or if he’s just gonna ignore me and wipe 10 times in a row.
Tanking is arguably the easiest role if you know what you’re doing and have competent players, but it’s also the most unforgiving if someone gets anything wrong. There aren’t a lot of fights where 1 tank can just handle everything on their own, and when someone else isn’t following mechanics or the other tank is a dunce who can’t read, it quickly becomes a mess.
Sounds like someone needs to learn to pull faster and not take bathroom breaks every 3rd pull lol
And you sound like someone with no raid experience.
