100000 spam garbage cc all day long while burning someone to death in under 3 seconds. Yea so much fun. Heals completely removed from the fight for over 30 seconds. Instant win based entirely on what team spams the most cc.
It probably wouldn’t feel so bad if they would just hurry up and ban all addons in pvp and stop feeding data into automated robot addons that tells the enemy the exact moment your trinket goes on cc and then just auto spam cc at you.
This is the worst it has ever been in my 18 years of playing. Not only is there 0 balance but no diminishing returns on spam cc makes the game completely non interactive and just 0 fun at all.
I thought WoW could never get as bad as league of legends yet here we are. 2025. Devs are beyond stupid and they can’t for the life of them figure out why subs are falling off a cliff.
As a Holy priest you have a lot of ways to deal with CC. A lot of it could be your positioning also. Your partners might be putting you into terrible positions as well. Just all depends on the game.
It’s not that bad right now. Just things you need to work on.
If anything it’s more annoying how hard it is to cc some healers as a lot of specs. Holy has holy ward, fade, angel form. Druid with giga tree. Pres shrouds + deep breath. Hpal 12 seconds of sac. And all of those things on top of healer trinkets still being 90 seconds and most of them being able to instant cast top people.
To play devil’s advocate, the pacing of the game is a lot quicker this season, and they added a damage threshold to CC that previously broke on damage. This means a lot more of the onus is on the dps to actually be aware and play defensively and mitigate damage when healer gets cc’d, or help them avoid it altogether(or use their tools like decurse for hex, tremor, sanc, warrior fear break, etc…which at lower ratings is often not the case).
All this is to say CC is still feeling very impactful and at times very oppressive/annoying as a healer.
As much as you’ll be flamed by everyone here you might be on to something. I have seen this complaint a million times and there might be too much cc. I actually can’t think of another pvp game with as much cc as WoW. There are just too many different kind of DRs and learning how to deal with all of it can be frustrating.
I agree. I don’t think the presentation of the argument was particularly effective, but I don’t think the idea that “PvP has too much CC” is totally without merit.
I feel like sometimes the Arena forum is very black and white. Someone will say “Hey I think burst damage is a little too high and it’s making games unfun” and everyone’s like “Oh so you want games to go into deep dampening and single matches to take 15 minutes. K, got it.”
I feel like a lot of people worry that without all the different CC variants we deal with in PVP, it’ll just devolve into doing PvE rotations on players. Which without any CC or mobility or defensives, I’d agree with, but I think there’s still room for skill expression without certain specs being armed to the teeth with CC / micro CC. To your point, I can’t think of another PvP game either, MMO or otherwise, that is so reliant on CC.
Yeah, cc is just a knowledge check anyways. I think things like positioning are way more expression of skill. And most people have addons anyways that help them know how to respond to CC.
Some cc is good, but too much is annoying because it really doesn’t add much but frustration for the person who’s stuck in a stun, into a poly, into a root, into a disarm.

That your point is nonsense. Because positioning is only as important as it is because of cc existing.
Without it positioning becomes a fairly straight forward thing.
