I hate Torghast! And, I hate it with a passion. Why? Because I love playing my characters. I don’t mind a similar concept of an endless dungeon which is a fairly safe choice. And, I don’t mind an occasional buff showing up if it doesn’t make my character someone they aren’t. (BTW, I even avoid mini-games.)
But Torghast isn’t like that at all; it quick[y turns my characters into someone they aren’t. And, I hate it! I can see how it would please mini-gamers and other non-rpg gamers. But why for the love of all that is Holy do you stick something with great potential in the middle of the game and make it horrible. It’s the Blizzard way is not enough of an answer.
I would wait to see how Blizzard is going to gate Torghast before I said I liked it or hated it.
Right now they are testing everything so it might seem pretty appealing but if Blizzard is designing with the same intentions behind how they designed BfA then it may very well not be nearly as cool as the hype is right now.
People want fun content outside of just dungeons and raids and YES even “RPG gamers” [talking as one who has/still plays a crap ton of Final Fantasy games,Phantasy Star,Dragon Quest, etc. stating what kinda gamers like this concept seems kinda gatekeepy, just sayin’.] The more options for player progression that cant be roadblocked by entitled streamers the better. If you don’t like it,simply don’t do it.
Can you explain how Torghast turned your character into someone they aren’t and how it turned into a minigame?
Wait, we designed Torghast?
I’m sorry, but how does that make her a mini gamer?
He/she told us they like overcoming challenges like that (which may lead to believe they might like roguelike dungeon games), and she’s a mini-gamer for that? that seems divisive.
That’s a real shame, cause theirs some good games filled to the brim with minigames. Spyro comes to mind, at least with 2nd and 3rd one.
