Ancient Flame Change, why?

I don’t understand the Ancient Flame change. This hurts evoker in pvp. A better change, if you feel that you must rework Ancient Flame, is to add Emerald Blossom and Verdant Embrace with Living Flame so that all three enable the proc of cast time reduction. That makes way more sense so that both PvE and PvP players benefit. Currently being able to self cast Living Flame repeatedly, with the proc renewing itself, is sorely needed to stay alive currently. Just my 2 cents from a PvP perspective.

Just realized it used an alt profile. Hopefully it switches to my evoker.

Hopefully, they’ll just remove the cast time penalty in the Devastation tree… otherwise this change is going to feel terrible in PvP.

100%. In my eyes its a decent nerf without LV proc’ing the reduction from a pvp perspective.

It’s still possible to get them to listen and adjust. It worked for Feral’s unpopular changes on the last PTR. Just make sure to hammer it home on the PTR forum when it’s open.

I will do that and thank you for the advice

100% agree.
Verdant and blossom AND self living flame should reduce the cast of living flame.

Btw it’s great they raise healing of VE for devastation

I’m not complaining, but the buff won’t be noticeable. VE heals for maybe 10% of your HP (without dampening/MS) on a 24 second CD. The high-end crits might be a little juicier, but ultimately it’s a very minor change that won’t broadly change anything.

Definitivly they dont want us to spam living flame for self healing.
So it will be
VE - LF - Blossom - LF
Which should.be.more than enough to self heal. Right?

Two reasonable cast time Living Flames in any given 30 second window (because VE and EB are pretty lengthy CDs) will not be sufficient for PvP.

What I suspect they’re trying to get away from is casting Living Flame offensively being punishing toward its healing usage… but this just makes it so much worse. If that is indeed their headspace, they need to just tack on the green spells in addition to Living Flame as a trigger for Ancient Flame.

They could also just make it so Burnout procs used offensively don’t remove Ancient Flame.

What could be great is that LF always self cast in addition to the other target( enemy or ally) like an integrated leaping flame.

I’m guessing it’s entirely for PvE reasons since Scarlet Adaptation is part of the DPS rotation. You’ll be able to effectively dash for a heal or drop a circle without “losing” the global to buff your next LF cast.

Idk man literally the entire problem is just that LF is a ridiculously long 2.5 second cast.

It’ll let you build a much meatier scarlet adaptation charge for your next leaping flames with a single click of the button.

Eh, Scarlet Adaption isn’t really part of the rotation. In PvE it is mostly taken so that if you DO have to heal yourself you get some of that back. Generally though we are not hard casting Living Flame much at all. Usually you are doing literally anything else, and just using Living Flame’s procs from Burnout. Only time you cast Living Flame in PvE is when you have run out of other, more useful things to do.

I mean they could have left Living Flame in as a trigger. No real reason to remove it as one.

I like the changes for pve, otherwise.
