because you are running literally every key with an OP meta comp.
I donāt think the effect would be huge and might even be small enough not to be noticed that much, but if thereās already a problem with a shortage of support players, why would we want to make it even a tiny bit worse?
Whats that got to do with anything?
what do you mean? If you are running a meta comp you are blowing through everything. You are literally playing the game on ez mode and saying in your experience X, Y and Z doensāt happen, no kidding genius you are probably putting out 14k dps as the tank with a warlock doing 25k etc etc. Everything melts before a mistake can even occur.
You seem to be under the impression that I have always played with a good comp. You would be mistaken
Not at all surprised itās a Druid whining about tanks not having any place in PvP. Healing potency has already been contentious and we have extreme damage levels because of it. No one wants to go back to dampening, but tanks are obnoxious. Guardian Druids with their 4pc were cancer in 2s for a bit because it did so much damage and they were unkillable. Youāll never see tanks in PvP until they get reworked to not be tanks while in PvP, and thatās for the better.
And people wonder why itās so hard to find tanks in wow.
Make more content that does not require tanks!
There is nothing fun about fighting tanks in PvP. Thereās a tank shortage because theyāre boring meatshields with no dynamic gameplay. And if it costs us a tank shortage so that I donāt have to deal with tanks making PvP a living Hell, then so be it.
The tank shortage started in 2004, with the release of World of Warcraft. There have never been enough tanks for groups in the history of this game.
Tanks donāt make pvp so bad, at least not in battlegrounds. I think they should take away the damage taken penalty for tanks that are defending nodes too, as a start. And maybe attacking nodes. Or just remove the damage taken penalty. Tank got a lot of armor? Use magic damage. Tank got self healing? Mortal strike? I dunno. There should be playarounds.
In my experience, people seem to expect tanks to be damn near perfect from the get go, you have no room to make mistakes or learn if you want to try tanking, therefore people arenāt going to try.
the playaround is to focus the tank.
I donāt do a lot of battlegrounds, but thereās nothing more funny than popping damage and wiping out a group of alliance who are all focusing different targets except maybe one guy who is trying to kill me.
if they would all stop being bad and switch to me Iād go down like a ā¦ well you can imagine.
tanks are NOT unkillable in pvp, youāre just not going to 1v1 them.
I donāt play tanks because they are just not fun for me.
Open world, it takes longer to kill things and that gets pretty annoying when Iām used to bursting things down as dps.
In organized content, it just doesnāt do it for me.
If Iām not dpsing, I feel that healing is far more engaging as Iām keeping up the group and squeezing dps in (if we ever went back to just healing, then I would never heal again).
I would love for tanks to be utility units in pvp and make them a true support class. I donāt think making them damage sponges is healthy.
To me tanks, healers and dps should be able to be bursted down in similar ways, but the tools they bring should be the distinction.
I already have a +50% damage taken modifier against me for just being a tank in a battleground, If you canāt kill me then thatās on you, Not me.
Being able to save different gear sets is built into the base character sheet interface. With your character sheet open itās in the top right.
I save different sets and just name them things like WW PvE, or MW PvP, etc.
Why is that guy always the one who just dinged 60 10 minutes ago and has no gear? Or is the nubness the reason heās going after youā¦
Oddly enough, Iāve noticed that it depends on what one is trying to kill. I can kill 1 target faster as a kitty, but if there are 3+, going Bear is considerably faster. This is due to the aoe capacity of the Tanks lends itself to killing more at the same time than for most DPS classes. That and surviving the attention, too.
I donāt deny that, I probably would, too, though I find Shaman healing my favorite.
It just wouldnāt affect the overall numbers of tanks enough to make a difference of people demanding more tanks. It may affect a local group, but not a whole server.
