I re-subbed before seeing this, but no harm done, Blizz. This year has been tough for developers and their teams having to work separately from home. It’s encouraging that you don’t want Shadowlands to be a rush job, so good on ya.
Thank you so much for this. This expansion has very high potential, take your time and get it right. Most sane people just want the game to be good.
I’m not trolling and if they give me full refund for expansion and outstanding future game time along with 1 month of game time for lying then I’m okay with leaving this game. You are so used to allowing companies to take advantage of you that you don’t realize that they cant just lie to you and bait and switch. Its against the law.
considering how many people are unemployed due to events of this year, it takes a special type of person who IS employed to get angry that things are altered. Some perspective from these people would go along way. Who knows what the conditions are like in blizz HQ with social distancing and other corona precautions.
Least SL isnt going full halo infinite and being pushed to next year
VERY good call. This restores the confidence we have in you because you recognize the issues up front. I’d rather have another 2-3 months than to have another BfA.
All these people that are complaining are the first one in here complaining that shadowlands is broken and asking for refunds. I ran into a bug today lvl in Shadowlands main questline the NPC just phased out i am stuck. This is the first time in a long time Blizzard feels like them once more. I want to thank everyone at Blizzard for their hard work and dedication to there work and the community no matter what what people say.
Thanks Blizzard make it good make it great.
Thanks for living up to your reputation for quality, Blizzard.
That’s why you’re the best.
Thank you for taking more time to polish this. One concern though is you think that the levelling experience is ok. The 51-60 levelling experience is currently not quite right. There are numerous threads on this so please take a look! Thanks again!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I don’t want people risking their health just to entertain me. These are challenging times and the team has a free pass (from me at least) to take as much time as they need.
Yup, first time I ever took time off of at launch in 15 years of playing and this. And it’s too late to cancel the leave and put it elsewhere, so yeah. Don’t announce a date if you can’t meet it! Especially when it’s already a short announcement window as is!
I am glad to hear this. It must of been a tough call, but we (the players) want a good expansion. There is tons of great feedback out there, make use of it!
I know we’re disappointed. But think of it this way, it gives us a lot longer with the Pre Patch to get used to our new character set ups and get the prepatch event gear (if needed) and level some alts with the new experience. Meanwhile, Shadowlands will be better for us when it’s released.
This is good call, I don’t even mind cancelling my time-off request for this! Gives plenty more time to #PullTheRipcord eventually as well and detach spells for multiple specs from one single storyline choice, since that’s still such a “feels bad” moment.
The pull the ripcord people were right. Blizzard should yank the impossible to balance borrowed power systems that no-one asked for and release the game the way everyone wants it.
I’m having flashbacks to SOE destroying Star Wars Galaxies by doing the exact thing the entire player base proclaimed that they didn’t want.
As much as I’m disappointed that I can’t venture into Shadowlands in October, I do think the expansion at the current state needs a lot of work.
Get the endgame systems working. Let players feel satisfied after hours of hard work in raids. Reward players for whatever the activities they like to take (like Stoopzz said). Make the Covenants more about aesthetics and less about combat abilities, so the OOC stuff like Death Knights being forced into Night Faes are fixed. Draw inspiration from the class balance in WLK, and revamp classes that feel really slow and classes that are really broken.
Make Shadowlands a great expansion! I have high hopes in you, Blizzard!
Like if you’re gonna announce a delay along with a pre patch date, at least give us a new date. Just wild lack of planning and organization, the virtual excuse is a cop out.
This delay is a blessing.
Be quiet
Taking time off for a video game? Lmao seriously?
I’m okay with Shadowlands being delayed, and happy that we got a date for pre-patch, sucks for those who took the time off work for this expansion. But take all the time you need blizzard.
In the meantime, we’re excited to announce that beginning October 13 we will be releasing the Shadowlands pre-patch, which lays a lot of the groundwork for the expansion and includes our revamped character leveling, new-player experience on Exile’s Reach, and a host of new character customization options. And once we get closer to Shadowlands ’ release, you’ll be called upon to defend Azeroth against a resurgence of the Scourge during our pre-launch event.
At least Prepatch in 13 days.
