An Update on Our Response to the DDoS Attacks

Blizzard, look at the attacks on the previous weekend (March 14th-16th, I believe) as many more were affected. Focusing solely on the attack affecting a streamer guild does not seem advantageous here.

i know some have mentioned it already, but do you have any plan to resurrect others that died in DDoS prior to the 22nd, 23rd and 24th? march 14th was one of these days and it doesn’t look great to the community to ress only the streamer death days, as others have pointed out

That’s not a fact. It’s delusional cope on your part because you want softcore to matter. No one cares about softcore though.

Not gonna happen, best you can hope for is an addon that does what you want it to. Better yet, make one yourself.

If the server pop remains the same (or grows) then yeah, it’s a fact. there’s also no such thing as softcore, no matter how red your face gets.

current population is hovering around the ~1600 player mark. If it drops by less than a hundred, then it’s fair to say everyone still cares about their hardcore wow game.

It won’t. This server has no reason to exist now that people like you will just cry until Blizzard revives your character.

Good that we have a written record then, eh? I’m ready to admit I’m wrong and the basis of hardcore required no revivals for any reason, even unprecedented third party action.

Are you ready to admit the same if the pop doesn’t drop?

Won’t have to, you’ve been wrong about everything up to this point, and this will be no different.

Your opinion is that I’m wrong. My opinion is that you’re wrong. How about that, we each have our own opinion, now we can wait and see who’s right.

They are already right. A 1 death server is no longer a 1 death server. Its softcore now

Because your opinions are derived entirely from desperation and feelings. Your “opinion” is inferior in everyway. No one cares how you personally feel about softcore.

You genuinely think that fewer people will play now that they know one unpreventable source of death is now able to be addressed by Blizzard?

What a weirdo take.

All of which is still just that; your opinion. You think it’s softcore and that’s ok, I think it’s hardcore because the name still says hardcore, and the game’s still the same as it was last week.

No, these are facts. It’s a fact that you make emotionally driven arguments because you are desperate for people to care about softcore. This is just a fact.

I also died during this time period… Hopefully they keep doing some digging because hundreds of players died that day too.

This is blatant streamer favoritism. There were more DDoS related deaths in the attacks earlier in March. If you were actually interested in the level of impact these were causing, you would have expanded you review or focused on the attacks that led to the greatest number of character losses.

Yeah, anyone that actually cared about the integrity of hardcore is leaving. If you want to play softcore, by all means, but the main appeal of these servers, at least initially, was that they were hardcore. That is no longer the case.

Now this, is an example of projecting.

I understand that’s how you feel, but which facts are you deriving your opinions from?

Agreed! I died on March 12th, and dont believe that I am going to get the benefit of the doubt on this one! Glad some people got there characters back though atleast!
