An old friend of mine is returning to wow

Greetings, all. I seek the advice of the general discussion community on how to deal with a rather pressing matter.

An old friend of mine has, for whatever reason, decided to return to Wow after a rather long hiatus. At first I was delighted to hear that as I have been having trouble befriending people in this game and I have repeatedly provoked the ire and contempt of the majority of my guildmates who I suspect are mostly made up of adolescent hooligans. To have a friend to play with again after my wife has decided to take another one of her long breaks from playing was something I was rather looking forward to, until he dropped a bombshell on me.

He said he refused to play Horde and wanted to try Alliance for a spell. I was most outraged upon hearing this and we quickly engaged in an ideological joust in a battle for faction supremacy. I quickly reminded him of the heaps of anecdotal data I possessed which shows that the Alliance attracts hooligans and individuals who engage in tomfoolery at a rate of 3.125% more than the Horde does. Even with this alarming disparity he remained unconvinced. I also told him that when the Alliances sends its players to the Horde, they’re not sending us their best. They’re sending us their worgen tail supporters, their high elfers, and some I assume are fine people. He was intolerable at this point and lashed out at me, calling me an anti-Alliance propagandist and bigot.

I quickly reminded him that no one has more respect for the Alliance than I do, that if we were to stand in a room crowded with people, I would be the least anti-Alliance player there is. Folks, I love the Alliance, but they’re killing us, they’re killing us. I played Alliance for many years, but it’s true.

We came to blows at this point and although I got in some good hits, he got the better of me. I blame too much Beaujolais and pound cake for my less than impressive physical showing, though in my younger years I could easily handle a room full of hooligans with one arm tied behind my back. He quickly fled the premises after our fight, we haven’t spoken since, but I am wondering what choice I should make. Should I remain Horde? Or go Alliance?

Bro just be happy he wants to play. Put your primitive useless cavemen faction war aside and enjoy the game with him

Stick to Horde!

I play the best Faction in WoW And I play great. I really do. People come to me and say “sir how do you play so well?” and I say I don’t know it’s just natural. Great Faction. Tremendous Faction. People love it.

Tell him Alliance isn’t what he remembers. It’s dead. Go horde or go home. I say this as a lifelong member of the Alliance. Unless you are from AUS, you are going to hate yourself. Most of the USA is horde.

Or play both. Encourage this person to play. We lose more than we gain by the day

Tell him that it’s no worries. That after BFA, they enabled Horde and Alliance to play together through a feature called War Mode so they can team up and go to war with their mutual enemies.

Have him turn on war mode, and schedule a place to meet so that you can both team up and destroy some evil together.

Then gank and corpse camp that Alliance buffoon.

I don’t think this is a true story. But compelling I will say.

Hello Battlemaster, thank you for your support, you certainly make an intriguing point. Alliance also has male human paladins, who I have been told are the ultimate main hero protagonists in the Warcraft universe.

Sir, political and factional tribalism is older in humans than the invention of the wheel and agriculture. I cannot simply abandon my ways

I was at a reception for the War council’s first formal meeting and they served the most beautiful piece of chocolate cake that you’ve ever seen. It was terrific. That Talanji is a terrific lady, and I am sure she’ll go on to do terrific things.

I would never gank you bb! Unless we were in Goldshire :kissing_heart:

Whew, that other thread got me all riled up!

Bro it’s a random pixel in a game. Is that dumb thing more important to you than what is ACTUALLY important: Your friend?

If your friend wants to betray the Horde, then he is no true friend.

Yeah…now where are those Professional Therapists™ who came in asking people to not take the game seriously?

Honestly, if it wasn’t for my friends/guild, I’d be Alliance. I only really like Trolls and Goblins (Undead for Warlocks only) for Horde where I like almost all of the Alliance races. I also like the story of Alliance more.

Sir, I resent this post quite greatly. I am not some dishonorable murdering coward who would ambush a friend and colleague I have known for more than 30 years in an attempt to humiliate him.

Sir, I must remind you that my friend also gave me a rather severe thrashing when he could not best me in our verbal spat. My male ego is currently too wounded right now to try and make amends with him. I am only thankful my wife did not witness our fight.

I’m not sure whether I should take you seriously or not.

I may consider playing both. Although I must admit that between juggling several work projects, a property line dispute with a neighbor, and my rather demanding wife this would be hard to accomplish.

I beg your pardon? I will have you know every word I have feverishly typed out in this thread is completely true.

Dalfurane, you used the word “bro” in two of your posts to refer to me in a rather informal manner. I highly doubt such an individual is capable of taking anything seriously.
