It would be really nice to see a small change to the game, to give a little bit of homage to players, who slogged it out during Vanilla (2004-2006) and achieved PvP ranking on the old system - have those feats of strength be account wide and applicable (titles and perks) to all characters on the account. Especially since it was the players that earned them, not the character. It required such enormous amounts of time to achieve, we really were not able to achieve these things on multiple characters back then.
Itâs always puzzled me why they never did this. I assume they thought it would detract from the people doing RBGs?
Itâs possible, but the really unfortunate reality of RBGâs is that itâs near dead and has been for quite a lot of time. Additionally, it is the hardest, without question, portion of this game to get into. The time, contacts, and shear uphill battle of getting in a group, never-mind winning, is not realistic.
I have ââ Private ââ title on my druid and mage from vanilla.
My Orc Warrior gained the âChampionâ title back in old PvP, unfortunately missed out on the âWarlordâ and/or âHigh Warlordâ title before BC came out
Champion took a significant period of time to achieve. Anything Rank 10 (Champion) and above required a massive amount of dedication, and the effort was exponential.
I think itâs fair for you to have that title at your disposal.
I donât have very high PvP titles back then but Iâd still like to be able to use them on alts. One of the hard part of making new mains is losing stuff like this. Like, I canât get Tabard of the Protector on alts. So annoying.
I am ok with not having the account-wide stuff, but I never liked that we didnât get ALL the titles we earned through the process.
Like, I made rank 10 on my priest or whatever it was. I wish I had the option to throw the rank 1-9 titles on him too.
Piddy here is a Knight.
My entire goal that season was to get Knight, so that I could get into the Secret PvP room in Stormwind.
So I diligently queued, flailed, died, and tangentially contributed to team wins by at least diverting damage and attention from another player who was actually competent. As I liked to say, I almost always ran out of health before I ran out of mana (curse you, you Rogues!). Câest la guerre.
But, I got Knight on the last week of the season. Just before BC. Just before they got rid of the titles anyway.
After the reset, I got the Knight title (nick-o-time), and they opened that Secret PvP room up for everyone, so I was never able to use my hard earned privilege.
I never did any serious PvP again after that, but it was fun. I was particularly fond of Arathi Basin as my BG of choice.
I like to run with that title from time to time, though right now Iâm running âof the Black Harvestâ while spouting out orange fire.
This point alone had me playing this character as a main until this expansion. I hated the idea of having to walk away from the things I have earned because they are locked to the character only.
