(( I think that is most of my Alliance lot so now for a horde representative. ))
The questioner motions the camera operator over to get a better shot, holding a white sheet of paper over you until the camera operator give a thumbs up. Moving it away, the interviewer sits down in a chair across from yours. They take a few moments to compose themselves, before addressing you.
Baine was sitting uncomfortably in the interview chair as he waited for the Goblin to begin the interview. He knew Goblin tech was prone to detonation and was not looking forward to one blowing up so close to his face. Finally however the questions begin. “First things first, please state your Name and age for all of the people at home that may see this.”
“My name is Baine Bloodhoof.” Baine was expecting the looks he got as he often got them when introducing himself to someone new. Both goblins looked at each other with a confused look on their face. Still they continued their line of questioning.
“What’s your occupation, or line of work? How do you live your day to day life?”
This was Baine’s chance to explain further, “I am a Brave of Thunder Bluff. No I am not the High Chieftain of the Tauren. Nor am I trying to steel his identity. As a Brave I can spend a lot of my time either scouting for Thunder Bluff or the Horde as a whole. Collecting resources for my tribe so that they can feed and clothe themselves. It is my Job to protect Thunder Bluff and my fellow Tauren from all threats both foreign and domestic.”
This answer seemed to satisfy the Goblins, but they also seemed a bit disappointed they were not actually interviewing the High Chieftain himself. Now that would be an interview of a lifetime with the rumors that have been going around. “Where do you live, or are you someone who travels a lot?” The interviewer asked abruptly.
“I live in Mulgore and sometimes on Thunder Bluff itself. I don’t exactly have a stable home as I have been traveling quite a lot with recent events that have been befalling the Earth Mother in recent years.”
“Who do you live/travel with? Are you by yourself, or do you have family, friends, or any animal companions?”
“I sometimes travel with other members of the Horde. Not always other Tauren. I have also trained several beasts to accompany me on my travels and to protect myself and my units. My parents are still alive but retired to a small hut between Mulgore and the Barrens. Other than them my tribesman and woman are my family.”
“Do you enjoy living/traveling with them?”
“Indeed. There is so much we can learn from the Earth Mother’s children. It is also a welcome event when one learns something new about their allies or their culture. If we cannot work together how will we learn to live peacefully?”
“What factions do you align yourself with, if any?”
“FOR THE HORDE!! Sorry, got a little excited for a second. I am a Tauren and as a Tauren I am loyal to the Horde as a whole. Due to the pact made by our late great High Chieftain and the Orc Thrall. Not to mention the countless amount of blood we’ve shared protecting each other.”
“Who do you love in life? Where did you meet?”
“Are you asking if I have a life-mate? Not at this time. There was one Tauren I fancied making a permanent life-bond with but it did not work out and we’ve gone our separate ways. Not exactly sure what became of her.”
“What sort of strange food combinations do you really enjoy to eat?”
“This isn’t a herbivore joke is it? Like if I say anything but grass or greens it must be strange. Well I’ll have you know we Tauren did not grow this big on fruits and vegetables alone. We eat meat just as much as the other races. Kodo Steak is quite delicious when prepared properly. I’m sure many outsiders will think that’s strange. We Hunt the Kodo for everything from food, to clothing, to even using their bones as building material and weapons. Nothing goes to waste and what we don’t use gets returned to the Earth Mother in thanks.”
“What sort of hobbies do you enjoy doing in your past-time.”
“Hobbies? I’ve never really thought about it. I do love exploring new lands and making maps. I also practice leatherworking so that I may repair my own armor.”
“Any sort of tips or tricks you want to share to people out there who may be interested in doing that themselves?”
“Well map making is not very hard, you just have to have an innate ability to tell direction and be able to trace your steps. Not every map has to be perfectly detailed either. As long as you can read it and it houses major landmarks for identification you should be fine. It is when you get into barren or desert locations were there really are not any landmarks to identify that becomes a problem.”
“The best advice I can give for being a leatherworker is be sure the material you are using comes from a reputable source. Don’t just go buying any old stack that may be in the Auction House. If the leather isn’t cured properly it could decay and fall apart. It wouldn’t do any good if your pants suddenly fell down when trying to escape or pursue an objective.”
“What animal would be cutest if scaled down to the size of a cat?”
“Oh I am sure any animal that is shrunk to the size of a cat would be cute on some level. Up until you accidently step on them. Then they are just a mess. Hey, it has only happened once!”
“What story do you enjoy hearing over and over, never getting tired of it?”
“The story of the Great Hunt involving the white stag was one of my favorites growing up.”
“When did something start out badly for you but in the end, it was great?”
“Well there was the whole sundering and cataclysm that happened not to long ago. You may have heard of it. Split the Barrens in half; released a tyrannical Black Dragon bent on burning everything to ash. Not sure it ever turned out ‘Great’, but we survived which is always a good thing.”
“What would a world populated by clones of you be like?“
“Very gassy. I’m sorry but I am a large bovine like it or not. We tend to fart more than we’d care to admit. There is a reason we live in the open air and not a city. Though not sure there would be a faction war. If everyone was like me, we’d always agree right?”
“Tell Me, What’s the craziest thing you’ve seen or experienced?”
“I traveled to an alien world were plants tried to attack me and have me for lunch. I’d say that was pretty crazy. I’ve also seen Alliance and Horde fighting side-by-side against a common foe like the Burning Legion. With current events and yet another war going on that seems pretty crazy as well.”
“What’s the most ridiculous thing you have bought on a whim?”
“I think this strange cover scent that was suppose to attract the opposite gender. All it really did was make me sneeze a lot and attract flies.”
“What’s the worst hairstyle you’ve ever had?“
“I don’t really have hair per say. More like fur and a lot of it. One time I got my entire coat braded. That took forever to have done and even longer to comb out when I realized it was not a good look for me.”
“If you were gifted a massive plot of land, say 500 acres, what would you want to build on it?”
“I’d say a Kodo ranch. It could be fun.”
“Do You Have any interesting adventures or exploits to share?”
"What the one earlier about being attacked by sentient plants on an alien world was not good enough for you? Well how about the time I helped save a black dragon from a cult lead by her children? Nah you wouldn’t want to hear about that now would you?
“What Race of people outside of your own do you feel is the strangest, or hardest to get to know?”
“Well the Forsaken are a strange lot. They are not really alive but neither are they dead.”
“Which of your vices or bad habits would be the hardest to give up? “
“Well now there is an interesting question. I’d first have to admit that I have a vice or bad habit in the first place. Then admit that I’d have more than one to pick from. Alright all boasting aside I do have a few things. But let’s keep them between me and my animals. I don’t want to soil the name of our High Chieftain–Wait what do you mean he’s been imprisoned for treason? What did he do???”
“All right, What’s your favorite childhood memory?”
“So we are just going to ignore the news that the Tauren leader has betrayed the Horde? Alright then… I think my favorite memory growing up was when I struck down my first Kodo with my bow. My father was so proud of me.”
“Flipping that around, What’s your worst childhood memory that you’re comfortable sharing with us?”
“I’m sorry but I didn’t really have a bad childhood. Other than the centaur raids on our camps it was pleasant and I have no bad memories… Really I don’t.”
“Who have you lost that’s been close to you?”
“Well there was the High Chieftain. He wasn’t close to me personally but we all felt closer to him as Tauren. He joined the scattered clans under a single Banner and united them with the Orcs to fight off the Centaur and founded our new home. It was a shame how he died. Defending the Horde’s honor only to be betrayed.”
“How do you feel about the state of the world today? Any grievances or complaints you want to get off your chest?”
“Actually I do. I want to know what is going on with our High Chieftain being imprisoned. Things within the Horde have not been the same since Thrall left Garrosh in charge. Vol’jin tried to get us back on track but his untimely death put Sylvanas in charge. I’m sorry I know she is our Warchief but something has to be done. We should be united against the Alliance threat not fighting among ourselves and imprisoning our own.”
“What is your biggest regret in life?”
“Somedays? Being named after our High Chieftain. I know it is not my fault as my parents named me but it sucks when you are held to a higher standard so as to not soil our leader’s name.”
“Where’s your ‘happy place’? Is there anywhere or any state of mind you like to go to when you want to enjoy yourself?”
“The open plans. When I am on a Ceremonial Hunt. I remember my first one and how I felt. To see that same feeling in the younger generation…”
“And Finally, Do you think that children born today will have better or worse lives than their parents?”
“I really don’t know. The Earth Mother is dying as we wage a fruitless war. at this rate there wont be anything but death in our and their future. Should I have any calves of my own that is not the legacy I’d wish to leave them.”
“We thank you for your time Baine Bloodhoof…”
