Obviously, we find people are invested for core team but leave because life. It just happens!
It’s not even a problem or issue beyond mythic raiding making it one, it doesn’t change that I love playing with those people still. Just that the mythic raid isn’t flexible if something does happen. That was all my opinion was.

That doesn’t solve raid participation, it just breaks m+ participation. Making everything worse doesn’t seem like a better solution.

It solves raid participation. Roughly equal difficulty for the first time.
Lowering the bar, is good for parity (heroic raid, mythic vault.) But there are better ways to solve it.
Taking away mythic raid rewards do not help mythic raid participation.
both of mine +wep come from the raid 1 of my boomkins both my warrior for single and antenna for multi so war needs 3 who you playing?
It wouldn’t take away those rewards, it would take away their exclusive access to those rewards which I get feels like something is being taken away because it’s the only advantage they still have.
I would pug the heroic raid a lot if I could get the same rewards I do from 10’s. Filling my vault from the raid instead of keys would be a nice change, but with the current reward structure it’s pointless for me. However, if M+ stopped providing a path to mythic track loot I’d probably just stop playing.
If you want to boost mythic raid participation, taking away rewards does not help.
If you want to boost heroic raid participation, then your idea helps.
Why? I care about m+ being competitive, and not number go up.
We’re still not back to Legion ilvls, playing WOW for ilvl is a fool’s endeavor.
Only people that have never raided Mythic think being able to pug people off the streets would solve their lack of #s.
I can only imagine how demoralizing it would be for 18 people trying to fill 2 spots and prog Saladbar.
What I actually see happening is mercenaries with experience being paid to fill spots during prog. That could be a positive or a negative.

The competitive part of that only works if mythic track gear is then banned from M+ or scaled down to heroic track ilvl in keys.

Yea, like, you want to play with similar people. Like a guild lacking one for some reason, and there’s people 7/8 or 6/8 (with prog) available.
And if the 6/8 people get a kill, maybe they leave their current guild.
That’s why I advocate for it.
so not being able to play is better?
You can play, find a new guild.
he said theres 18 people trying to fill spots and you just want the guild to disband no wonder you think they will all fall apart
just scale it all down to hero track. At current state high keys are just a simulation of doing content with lower gear for each higher key level. Though I do think in reality for a lot of players it’s just a gear treadmill for them, they chase “BIS” and then quit when they have it.
Not even close. Delves are just more content, which is good. but nothing is the same as getting 10-20 guys together twice a week to crush some bosses.
There’s an extremely high likelihood those 18 players will be trapped in the raid for 1-2 hours while the raid lead spends all that time trying to filter through applications, figure out if anyone knows the fight, and then explain what strat your guild is using.
It’d 100% be better for everyone to not waste their time in that process, because it will simply demoralize them and make them quit the game or join a guild with a roster.
Like I said, a lot of people with 0 experience Mythic raiding have no idea what they’re asking for and how little it would actually fix for them.
The only real solution is a smaller raid size, but that would hurt guilds that have established rosters for a decade+ at this point.
The problem is how long BIS takes to to get. Burnout happens due to the process of getting it, not because you got it quickly. The answer to get people to keep playing is a means to create meaningful repeatable content. Something they have never truly nailed, so they have always artificially gated progression in place of creating a system that everyone likes that gets people to keep playing.

but with no lockout you could just invite your friend that did the boss on tuesday?
edit no loot but that not the point on prog is it

That is probably one of the reasons Blizzard has the lockout in the first place. They want it to be a guild accomplishment rather than people inviting friends to carry them to the achievement. I don’t really agree or disagree with their thinking on that.
there already guild achievements? just make the mythic one a full group
