An idea to improve mythic raid participation

Ok so I have an idea that I think would not only raise participation in mythic raid but would also be a quality of life improvement for everyone.

So my idea is to make it so when you join a guild its account wide and you can join multiple guilds and choose whichever one you wanted to represent anytime you were in a rested area but you always have access to all the guild chats.

Cause sometimes you love your AOTC guild and don’t want to leave it but maybe you want to push a little mythic, or maybe your guild doesn’t do as much m+ as you would like to do. Or maybe you’re a hardcore mythic raider and you treat raiding like a business because your mythic raid guild is insufferable and you want to join an extra more casual guild to be able to talk to people.

I think the communities section came close to being an answer to this but it just fell short because its more in direct competition with the guild system.

I know there’s other problems like mythic being so difficult every ones cooldowns have to be scripted out and managed by a voiced weak aura. But if blizzard chips away one thing at a time I think it could become a lot more fun and popular.

How is joining multiple guilds going to boost participation for Mythic raids?

sorry but delves took a big chunk of incentive to run raid away thankfully

Let it be solo’d

I can fix mythic raiding right now:

  1. gilded crest drops from m+ capped to 40 a week, gilded from delves capped to 1 per week (just so we can tell them they’re fine, shut up)

  2. remove the vault from the game… have the dinar vendor available from week 1 with the same kill it to unlock it rules as last tier… same 3 weeks per item schedule.

  3. change catalyst to work with dinars… 1 dinar =1 charge.

Game is fixed. People want to mythic raid again. True m+ bros can go play fellowship when it comes out.

Increase drops to make raiding actually rewarding again, and eliminate M+ as the last remnant of the Legion/BFA/SL era chore list.

So your plan is to make guilds just like communities? Smrt!

The difficulty isn’t a problem to be chipped away. It’s the entire damn point!

This is a terrible idea.

Nah it’s fine as is. Mythic isn’t designed for everyone to walk on and do.

Delete it.

Nothing to improve if it doesn’t exist :sunglasses:.

No like seriously though lmfao. Make it soloable or puggable. If blizzard wants more participation that is. But I don’t believe they do.

So joining, and repping guilds is going to convince me to participate in Mythic Raiding.

NOPE.

Unless you tie an appreciable amount of power into it specifically, alter it to make it more approachable to more groups with variable and inconsistent roster sizes, or nerf it into the ground, there’s really nothing that can be done to increase its participation metrics.
In fact it’s probably why trinkets and such from raid tend to be so powerful relative to their competition. If they weren’t, only the people who want to raid would bother to of it partake.

The bare minimum for making mythic raids have participation is to shift them off the antiquated raid system that was made for Molten Core. Make them flex with loot lockout instead of instance lockout raiding.

In the distant past we had “sister” guilds for this sort of thing. Several guilds working together and trading players depending on the content and classes needed. Did this in Vanilla, BC, and Wrath with 1-3 other guilds working with us as well as my own few guilds I personally helped out when they needed a high dps or heals.

Most guilds feel too isolated and cult like these days for this sort of thing to be common. You raid with another guild and they get cranky, and even if you leave guild just to raid in a harder guild for a bit, they cut you off like all you betrayed them or something.

Nope. No thank you.

Smooth out the difficulty curve between difficulties would go a long way. I think they could make mythic gear drops easier to do a better job of soft-nerfing the content. But they won’t do that. So it is what it is.

The real question: why does mythic raid need to have higher participation? I think the folks that do it are probably happy with it.

Bringing back 10m would get me back

I did cutting edge raiding as a 10m guild. When 10/25 was removed and replaced with 20m Mythic is when I became a Heroic only raider. :person_shrugging:

Breaking m+ is not fixing raids tho…
Now both would be equally miserable.

This is honestly the only starting point for improving mythic raid participation, especially on the flex scaling side of things. Having exactly X number of players will always create significant logistical hurdles just to be even to dip your toe in the waters, regardless of what number X is set to. And that’s before we even consider how much being on the bench isn’t much fun.

The problem with flex/multiple sizes is trying to account for that in raid design.

Some fights just don’t work, or have wild swings in difficulty based on number of players.
