An Idea of New Druid Races

Hello I am of the opinion that since Kul’tirans are granted druidism as it is in lore that so too should they teach it to their Stormwind cousins, this would leave Horde with an equal chance for a new druid race The Blood Elf.

The Blood Elves(specifically High Elves (prior to fel addiction) have been druids in the past and now that no addiction afflicts the Blood Elves we could see a return of this class but you might wonder who would teach these Blood elves?

The Blood Elves do not posses any Kul’tiran equivalents to draw from except the Tauren(Highmountain or not makes no difference) and trolls upon which could congregate with a new school for druidism in Falconwing Square, There one with the talent and aspiration to do so could join the school and be given druid specific quests to do such as to draw arcane energy from the arcane protectors and to use them to create nature energy(Shaping) or to gather Nature energy from the elements around you(such as the air, water and earth) and be tasked with finding a way to control it and shape it as druids often do.

The Blood Elves would after controlling their use of arcane and nature energies together they would get sent to Moonglade to train under the watchful gaze of Malfurion Stormrage(no actual involvement would take place from behalf of Malfurion) and when completing the following quests you are given a note covered in vines from malfurion, Upon your return your class master would hold this note for you until you return from the Ghostlands and when completing the final quest to travel to the Undercity to speak with Sylvanas the leader would meet you in Silvermoon and return the note which would be included.

once this note is read by Sylvanas she will return shortly with you to Falconwing Square to speak with Malfurion and the Tauren Druid Leader and as they concluded with each other you would be given a diploma for completing the novice training thus far and will be granted a choice between three sets of blood elven themed druid clothes as well as your choice of three druid weapons( Your currently equipped gear would be destroyed, if naked all lvl gearat or below lvl 20 requirements would be destroyed) (If Feral/Guardian you will want the Shaper’s Hide of the Wild 50 Armor, 10 Agility, 10 Stamina and 10 Crit)(If Balance you will want the Shaper’s Robe’s of Arcane
5 Armor, 15 Intellect, 10 Stamina and 10 Haste)(And if you are Restoration you will want the Shaper’s Robe’s of Nature 10 Armor, 10 Intelligence and 5 Haste and Crit)(if Feral/Guardian you will want Shaper’s Spear of The Wild 10 Armor, 15 Stamina and 5 Haste)(if Balance you will want Shaper’s Staff of Arcane 10 Armor
10 intellect, 10 Crit)(and finally if you use Restoration you will want the Shaper’s Staff of Nature 5 Armor 20 Intellect, 10 Stamina and 5 Leech) and will be sent out into the world.

When seen by undead and blood elves and alike they will regard you as the star pupil of Sylvanas and the alliance Night elves(the non-hostile ones) would call you Malfurion’s chosen pupil and while yes i hadnt any idea of what to do with a human druid as i main horde however id like to hear your thoughts and fill in the blank for me as to how the human druid should be handled.

also just an idea but for Blood Elves you could replace Arcane Torrent with Shaper’s Convergence which steals arcane energy(a second bar after mana) and any nature energy from any natural places in azeroth and then you would get a 5 Hour debuff that makes all abilities self cast including harmful abilities,
and instead all healing and damage abilities would be dealt to nearby players and non-faction npcs as an aoe heal/dot for this duration activating Shaper’s Convergence again would expend all nature energy and Arcane energy to deal a long lasting Hot/Dot to all players and enemies within 45 yards and then for you to slowly lose 10 health every 5 seconds over 30 seconds as your Nature and Arcane energies return to full after activating it a second time the ability would become Shaper’s Sacrifice which will kill you and ressurect any heal any players and do damage to all enemies within 100 Yards but not exceeding 75% of an enemy player’s Health after returning to your corpse your Shaper’s Convergence returns to Arcane Torrent until the 5 hour debuff is gone.

Hey, you’ve already got that boss in Botanica right?

It’s something I’ve thought about as well. I don’t believe that druidism died in Botanica at all, personally. For one, the Blood Elves are all about magic, they wouldn’t lose an entire school of it. There would be books and logs of all practices of Botanism either to be stolen back from Botanica, or kept in Silvermoon Libraries.

With Kael’thas left, he took the best and brightest with him. That meant students, teachers, and the not-so-great but still hanging in there, or still learning were left behind. And then there’s the Scryers, a faction of those Kael’thas took with him who immediately realized the Prince was going to lead them to their deaths and bailed. At least a few Botanists or those who know Botany would have gone with them.

This isn’t the case of the one Night Elf paladin and the one undead Paladin. There’s a whole dungeon full of Botanists, one Botanist who was really powerful, and lots of story behind returning Botany (druidism) to the Blood Elves without even adding any new lore!

Not to say I don’t dislike your thoughts, it’s just not at all necessary. Also I’m so thirsty for a Blood Elf druid I’ve thought about this a lot!

I thought for sure we’d see a nightborne druid, given the botanist boss in Nighthold and the NB being related to NE’s and all. Especially because while in Suramar City, druid cat forms in disguise was turned into a mana cat! That was so cool.

I wouldn’t be against Nightborne or Blood Elf druids. In fact, horde deserve some pretty druid races too. I’m also hoping for vulpera druids… Probably won’t happen, but I’m dying for a cute druid race on horde.

Kinda sucks that the new allied races for horde are a related to the old druid races. Horde gets 2 tauren race druids and 2 troll race druids. Meanwhile, the alliance gets an elf druid, a worgen druid, and a human druid.

I am not quite sure I would consider what the Sin’dorei or Shal’dorei do as actually… druidism. They use nature magic, but they do so in a way totally in contrast to the philosophy of a druid. Their approach to nature magic is the approach the Blood Knights had to the Light back in BC-- They force it to obey rather than earn its cooperation.

Didnt read a lick of this but, If i can put my two cents in. My choice would be a Vrykrul. They already have models for them and it could be some sort of Nordic looking cat or w/e. IDC make it happen Vrykrul allied race for alliance!

Agreed, I was really looking forward to a magic-inspired druid take with the Nightborne! I was so disappointed to see they didn’t even try. :frowning:

Two Tauren and two Troll races make me a sad elf.

I’d rather they be horde. Since y’all get kul tirans.

We alliance here by give up the Kul Tirans to the Horde. Vykrul for the alliance!

But Kul’tiran Thornspeakers aren’t Druids. They’re Drust, which is a completely different thing.

In lore Thornspeakers use death magic to manipulate life and souls. When they “transform” they’re essentially putting a piece of their soul into an animal and reconstructing it with wood, vines, and leaves to reanimate it.

Just because they use nature magic, doesn’t make them druids. They get their power from the Shadowlands; the place your character goes when you die; (The Drust call it the Blighted Lands) while NE’s, Worgen, Tauren and Darkspear Trolls get their from the Emerald Dream.

Kul’tirans have no connection to the Emerald Dream or the Wild gods in any way. If anything they’re closer to Death Knights with their use of Necromancy than they are to Druids.

Fungarian and Botani use nature magic, but they’re not considered Druids.

(Also, the Zandalari Dinomancers aren’t Druids either. They get their powers from the Loa, and not the Wild Gods.)

Zandalari and Kul’tirans are only represented as Druids in game for gameplay reasons. They’re not going to make two new classes just for two allied races. So they said “Screw lore, they’re under the Druid branch now”.

I’d like to see dwarf and Belf druids, honestly. Dwarves by way of the wildhammer clan, they have a close connection to the wilds. Their flight form would be a griffon, bears are a natural fit for dwarves, and snow tiger for cat form, and ram for travel form.

For Belves, they have always had schools dedicated to nature study, see the botanists. And they do care about the environment around them, they have just historically been about controlling it more. But with the ghostlands devastated, and Eversong in disarray, a return to natural magics is needed to mend their home. Lynxes for cat form, bears with bright sun kissed fur, a regularly colored doe or hawkstrider for travel form, and a dragonhawk for flight form would be awesome.

I think that draenei may also be a candidate for druids, with their desire to repair the azuremyst and bloodlust isles, and a stronger connection to the Belves after Teldrassil, druidic arts could flourish amongst them. Regular humans are also a choice, as they can learn from Kul Titans and Gilneans, but I’d prefer draenei or dwarves over regular humans.

Agreed on many of these points, especially the last one. One of my biggest disappointments being how close HMT are to Tauren in their forms, including non-shapeshifted. I think there’d be an outcry of “enough humans!” if humans were picked for the next Alliance Druid race.

Though that being said, Worgen and KT have very distinct forms and I highly appreciate both of them, including the KT’s amazing textures and unique take on Druidism. I find them an indicator of more unique things to come! Or, so I hope!

Pandaren who turn into actual panda bears lol

lol id be all for that and id be interested in vrykul for alliance and vulpera for horde cuz we gots no furries except taurens which hardly count and idc what else ya give alliance in terms of classes i just want belf druids also if you read my original post i said that it could be a good idea to use the botanist’s ways of shaping nature magic and arcane magic but instead of forcing it you could take a different approach such as collecting nature and arcane energy from various sources and utilizing them together

The Blood Elves were never druids.
Druidism is pretty new in the grand scheme of things. Sure, they can learn, just like any other race, but I don’t see it as likely as Blood Elves don’t care for nature in the same way their Kaldorei cousins do now. Neither do Stormwindians, and Kul Tiran Druids seem to be a relatively fringe group, similar to the Lun’alai outcasts of Zandalar.

Would like to see Wild Hammer Dwarfs be able to be playable druids. I don’t need an AR per say but just another customization option for the current dwarf is enough. Select the Wild Hammer potion and then your that kinda of dwarf instead of an I.F. one.

Gnome Druids that turn into cute smaller versions of current druid forms would be really popular. Having alliance high elf druids would make sense. I’m guessing the new fury race, the fox things, will be druids as well.

I want ogre druids. So. Fricken. Bad.
