Well, the problem is that there is a fine line on what is considered to be a “meany head” and reporting players will all be based upon the interpretation of the players feelings within this grey area. Someone on here stated they would report and try to suspend someone that used the common phrase “git gud” during player vs player activities. When it comes to someone’s feelings, any one can be considered a “meany head” which in their mind would justify the players ban. It’s better to just disable your chats (and use another platform like Discord for public communication) instead of leaving the risk of your ban based upon another strangers interpretation of what they consider being a “meany head” is.
Right and if the reports have no merit then blizzard throws them out. If someone is repeatedly abusing the report system, they are supposed to be punished.
Hopefully with the new system it’s just a “general reminder” kind of thing of the TOS we’ve all agreed to in the last what 17 years?
Sadly, it’s the only way. Self defense.
Unfortunately, a streamer has already exposed that he was banned due to an automation system.
You mean azmon with the auto squelch that isn’t a ban?
its already like this irl and by how woke blizz is its not surprising if they did
Imagine getting banned and then not having the platform to get yourself unbanned, like 99% of players don’t have.
Who are you referencing as the streamer?
I never said I wanted them banned. I just don’t think it’s something they shouldn’t be saying. However, if they don’t care (which many posters have displayed that they don’t) and want to continue to disrespect that boundary, then why wouldn’t I want them banned?
I even agreed there should be a list of what’s OK to say and what isn’t.
I shared my stance and got mocked, for it. And, my stance is even getting twisted that first offenders should be banned, and I don’t agree with that, at all.
I believe in second chances, but if you keep blowing it, you only have yourself to blame.
Don’t worry, my culture won’t get any pass.
I don’t intend to be rude, but this seems to happen to you a lot. There is a common denominator in every single one of those runs. Are you making mistakes that are costing you runs?
Looking forward to getting actual community back, where you actually want to talk in chat to other people, instead of people just being nasty to each other.
I don’t mind joking around, but some people are downright disgusting and need to be permanently muted… or worse.
It wont be the toxic ones. It will be people who understand the system will be abused and that since its automated the slightest little thing will trigger the reporting and a silence with no real person to verify it was truly against TOS>
Peeps are way to sensitive now for this system.
Hmm? I still don’t have Keystone Hero, I PuG every single one of my runs. I’ve been busy with my friends’ graduations and finals. I feel like I come from a very good position to talk about pugging mythic keystones.
Correct. It will be the people who have the most to lose (time invested). Like Vanilla/TBC accounts or collectors.
A squelch is NOT a ban. I’ve been Squelched, before. My in-game privileges were just limited, but I can still play.
Suspensions are NOT bans, either. I’ve had that happen to me, before, too, over cussing before the Squelch.
Nowadays, the Squelch is my biggest enemy. So, I just don’t talk in public chat channels, anymore.
I just wish people like you would stop exaggerating the word “ban” and applying it to all of the rest of the discplinary functions.
Squelch is NOT a ban. Silence is NOT a ban. Suspension is NOT a ban.
So I assume he was referencing asmongold?
Both can be used interchangeably depending on the situation but thanks for cherry picking that one word out of everything I wrote.
Yup same here… Its all automated too. No real person even looks at the appeals anymore. Its just a cut n pasted reply sent almost as soon as you click send on the appeal ticket.
I think people use the term interchangeably because 3 letters is a lot easier to type. I know the difference though.
