That was the joke. That was all of it.

the punchline is surprise! The kids have 2 weeks before the family is moving due to eviction!

I’m actually fairly certain I knew that and was just trying to get a rise out of Mord BUT in the spirit of the thread I will admit that was a very mean-spirited attempt and I apologize to you both.

I ain’t apologizing to anyone else for anything though, I still got beef with you, spaceman.

Rosewall for president, because they seem nice (no sarcasm in that)

In the words of N’zoth, you cannot trust your perception.

hard to tell if they’re nice when all i can see of them is the warcraft logo

because i’ll be real the warcraft logo is not nice and personally i base my perception of people’s personality on how good their hair looks

I live by a mantra of “theyre all trolls, dont feed them”

Then duel me on our WotLK private server, Warmane. I’m on the Frostmourne realm.

But what about the lighting guy? Sound guy, camera man, wardrobe, dresser, catering truck, pa’s? What about the production company, marketing, theaters, television stations, and let’s not forget the people who went to the movie and paid to see it.

lightning, sound, cam, caterer no.
the rest yes. their parents too for good measure.

If you’re being serious, there’s a lot of degrees of personal accountability in everything. I’ve refused to do things I thought were distasteful, I happened to not get canned because of where I work. I think if you’re an exceptional makeup artist, you can find other work. Most everyone up there in your list also famously has some ridiculously strict and influential unions.

If you’re working for… say, Walmart and barely making ends meet no one should @ you for wanting to keep food on the table by not rocking the boat or storming out when it’s revealed they’ve done yet another stupid thing. Others should be helping fight that battle for you to be treated fairly.

im fairly certain hes just being facetious

I don’t even know the meaning of the word.

You stop that

catching up in this thread but comedians can say jokes that can be said without meaning to be targetted offensives and poking fun at something, but it’s another topic entirely when someone with a hostile agenda takes those jokes and uses them as a basis for acting in a terrible way

whether it’s the comedians intent or not is obviously up in the air, but with folks like Chapelle I doubt it’s done with harmful intentions regardless of the result

something something the road to hell is paved with good intentions

To use a more severe legal analogy, it’s the difference between someone breaking into your house and stealing a handgun from your safe that they then proceed to use as part of a violent robbery, and you just leaving it loaded on the dashboard of your car while you’re shopping for groceries. In the latter example, I’m guessing you didn’t leave it there on purpose because you secretly planned to have someone steal it and hurt someone else, but you can’t turn around and claim total innocence because your reckless behavior directly enabled that result.

People can twist jokes however they want beyond the original intent and there’s not much you can do about it, but some jokes don’t need to be twisted very much to become harmful, and that’s the judgment call people are making.
