This achievement An Ancient Awakening is unlocked when you open the Ancient Waygate system from renown with the Dragonscale Espedition. The unlock is account bound, and other toons way gates that are unlocked are also account bound. The achievement cant be earned by any other characters on your account once you have it opened (if you want to increase personal character achievement points) as well as the progression from other toons to unlock all waygates doesnt carry over for Mastering the Waygates. You can’t open previously unlocked waygates making this achievement not possible to get if you’ve opened any waygate on another toon.

I just ran into this issue myself. I unlocked the first 2 waygates on my evoker, then switched to my demon hunter. The first 2 waygates were unlocked and I didn’t get any quests to unlock them again and then I unlocked the 3rd waygate on my demon hunter. Now I’m unable to complete this achievement as my evoker only shows 2 waygates unlocked on the achievement while my demon hunter only shows one.
Came here to report this issue also. The achievement needs to have account-wide tracking enabled.
