An alt & new player unfriendly event, 20th anniversary

As each year, the anniversary event offers a dive into old world content. But this year, this does not apply to everyone it seems.

A lot of the quests, but also rewards are only for level 80 chars. This alienates new players and those without the expansion, but also people who like to participate with their alt characters.

If we now consider that there is a currency to be farmed which may require the use of alts, then this is a pretty bad take by Blizzard.

The chromie event also does not seem to start, nor are there enough people to take down the world bosses. It´s somehow shocking so far.

Can´t even open the reward boxes,

has anyone playtested this event? An event that locks out new players, those not on level 80 chars, or without TWW.

Welcome to the new WOW, a game not for everyone I guess. and they call this a celebration?

I know Warbands was sold to you as “alt friendly”, but it’s not.
It’s just BOA drops renamed.
The currency for the event is only given to the first character you do those quests on which is a nurf to how much you can earn regardless of how many alts you have. This is what we’re learning system to system, event to event about warbands.
So there’s nothing to grind on multiple alts which I think will help your own disposition.

Oh, don’t worry - they made sure to hurt people over level 80 too.

Wanna get a new set THIS week?

Wanna get something from 0 rep to exalted?

Have you tried the non-LFR version of BRD?

What about those exciting world bosses with amazing loot?

Visited Chromie yet?

It sounds like I’m giving recommendations, but in reality, it’s sarcasm because every single one of the things I listed has serious issues.

Hey, if you just got here after 20 years, there’s plenty of game for you.

This event is for people who have suffered together for nearly two decades.

noobs. pff.

Blizzard Marketing: “We’ve made reputation Account bound, not character bound!!”
Blizzard reality: (But just in TWW hehe)

Blizzard Marketing: “We’ve made currency Account bound, not character bound!!”
Blizzard reality: (But just like, 5 of them, hehe)

Blizzard Marketing: “Huge Classic Timewalking Event inc!!”
Blizzard reality:

  • Dailies give no rewards
  • Weeklies rewards bug out
  • Nurfs to TW badge acquisition
  • Nurfs to TW scaling
  • Nurfs to TW xp
  • Takes 2 weeks of doing things you don’t want to in order to buy anything of note (xmog sets)

Untrue. You don’t even need active game time to participate in the 20th anniversary event.

Characters under 70 get Chromie’s Good Bag instead of the level 80 crate.

Codex of Chromie has been fixed to allow anyone even without TWW to queue.

Timewalking can be queued as early as level 10.

Trial accounts cap out at level 20 and can use dragonriding.

You also get steady flight at 20 now I believe

My only complaint is that the loot boxes that are anniversary quest rewards for Level 70 characters require Level 80 to open, a major oversight IMHO. I guess they’ll be sitting in the banks of my MoP Remix alts for a while.

You know, it is probably due to Hallows end and the winter holidays , they did not develop content for low players for the anniversary event. There is already a - lot on our plates.
It only took me 13 years to do the mask task achievement, so I am thinking ya’ll gots lots ta do as new players.
