Maybe Blizz should add a captcha to the game lol
In fact, before the servers in China were closed, NetEase used to manually verify World of Warcraft players who repeatedly engaged in farming. Now, the raid instances can be reset indefinitely, which is highly unreasonable, as a normal player wouldn’t reset the instances hundreds of times a day. It’s 11 AM local time today, and there are already 1,000 people in the game queue. According to WCL (Warcraft Logs) queries, however, there are only 5,000 players on our server participating in raid activities.
OP…option 1 only hurts real players. Bots run for hours beyond any normal person would.
They will make it up in bulk.
Option 2 only happened in retail with squishes to SL. These got ugly. Every squish that comes later in wow’s versions, pain follows in some way.
“Legacy” ilevel went to crap. Ilevel is how they controlled vendor gold price.
Retail could do this. expac starts give out gear real fast. Faster than outland and wrath anyway. Retail has looms for gold.
Retail also has chromie time with scaled mobs and scaled dungeons.
you run this till its time for the last 10 levels. this is how gear for gold levels out.
RFC, ramparts, UK or even halls of valor (legion dungeon for the pure classic folks)…same exact gear stats. With the same crappy ilevel that the vendor pays not much gold on.
You’re recommending changes that hurt normal players. That’s dumb.
What they should be doing is banning the bots. Bots are not hard to detect or ban by any means. Blizzard just doesn’t care.
Simply relying on banning accounts is not enough to completely solve the problem. Instead, we should increase the automatic detection mechanism. However, currently, the return on investment is too fast. It only takes 6 hours to break even, and the rest is pure profit.
I’m not sure if Blizzard Entertainment and its players still share any alignment of interests. They’ve changed too much over the years, as have we.
Many of us on the American forums have been having this same conversation about how RMT is ruining the game via the bots. It’s not nearly as bad on American servers as what you’re describing on Asian servers, but there are still some sections of the game that are unplayable. Sadly, the conversations over here get stonewalled and derailed by people refusing to accept responsibility for the damage they cause to the game through RMT.
Thanks for shedding a light on the fact that RMT is not a victimless crime and has real-world consequences for others around the world who are unable to log in due to the number of bots invading the servers to supply the gold they buy.
Just ban the gold buyers. Only for like 1 hour though, just long they come back broke and pissed.
Simply banning accounts is not effective; cutting off their income source is necessary. Why can Karazhan be modified, but not places like the Black Temple? How many people can resist a 40% discounted monthly subscription?
Honest question, how in the world is farming Black Temple getting someone gold ? Do the mobs drop insane amount of raw gold ?
players shouldn’t be aoe farming dungeons either… it’s not good for the game.
Yea they should be.
The thing not good for the game is removing everything players enjoy doing. Resulting in even less reason to log in and also further encourage buying gold by taking away yet another gold farm that bots also doing dosent completely ruin by having to many people there.
You might not like aoe farming instances but that is how many like to make their gold and nothing wrong with that.
Esp when it is part of classic it was a well known and practiced money making methiod back than.
Bots are fixed by enforcement not by removing content from players.
Blizz should just perma ban gold buyers and make GDKPs a ToS violation. Gets rid of demand for gold.
“bUt tHeRe R aLWaYs GoLd sElLerS”
Yes, and there will always be bacteria on your plate no matter how hard you clean it. The point is to reduce their number to the point they don’t make you sick.
Old Blizzard is gone though. ActiBlizz sees the numbers, they don’t care about health of the game. They know gold selling and GDKPs are keeping Classic afloat.
you enjoy breaking the game by amassing huge sums of gold doing something unintended, and probably using exploits to do it.
this bs was the catalyst for the botters.
That’s not how any of this works
You claim it’s not intended.
Fact is that’s outright false.
Blizzard knew about aoe farming instances all the way back in van the first time round.
They made the instances as such in tbc and on since they were completely fine with it. Till a quite recent xpac where ilvl squishes more than anything changed it.
It’s not unintended it’s a feature of the game.
Yes many players enjoy admassing gold in fact that’s one of the reasons many players play for. In fact know one guy who only plays as a economical experience to see how much gold he can make.
It’s not breaking the game to play the game as it was inteneded to be played which aoe farming vary much is the devs knew about it when designing the game and allowed it to cont past og vanilla. As such any claims of it’s not intended is outright false.
No this bs was not the cat for botters. The game being profitable was. There is many other ways that are profitable for botters all changing this dose is annoy players and move the bots as such nothing worthwhile.
Improve Warden? WOW! It’s brilliant!!! Why hasn’t anyone ever thought of this before?!?!?!?!
it is not intended. don’t lie.
knowing about it isn’t the same
It is intended and that’s not up for debate. That has been proven without question by blizzard allowing it to cont and each xpac furthering it. Otherwise it would not exist by the time wrath came out. Classic blizzard was vary fast at making changes to anything they thought was a expoilt esp game breaking ones, that you claim this was often done within one maintenance cycle. Fact it was not changed shows without question it is not a expoilt. And regardless if it was intentional in vanilla cont do to the same means blizzard was fine with it and it was a intentional feature in any xpac after which includes wrath. Knowing about it is not the same yes but knowing about it and cont to do the same is.
Blizz will never take any serious action against botters because:
-players are not quitting over it
-bots pay subs too and increase monthly active user metrics
