Psst, the trinkets outside of a select few from dungeons and raid are supposed to be garbage. This has been a design trend going back over a decade.
First of all, that is just abhorrently terrible design.

sorry you somehow missed all the garbage trinkets we’ve had over the years, but it is in fact true. Hell even the raid itself has some obnoxiously garbage trinkets in it, like trinkets so bad that they HAVE to have been intended to be bad because they underperform so hard.
It’s just a trinket version of Brann’s season 1 curio that did the same thing.
I DID use the season 1 curio, once. When I did ?? (hard mode) Zekvir. Start fight, get maximize buff, otherwise leave and reset.
Yeah…im pissed. I finally get a delve map, grind it out on a tier 10, praying for a core armor slot hero piece i could catalyze or even a good ring, weapon/oh, or a useful trinket like fun house…but nooo im trolled with what i thought was a curio at first…that sims less than basically any of my trinkets ranging from 619-639.
Also this is even AFTER the buff that doubled the stats.
At week 2/3 in season, literally every hero piece you get should be an upgrade, for the casual to semi hardcore demographic…so troll items are a slap in face from things like bounty maps.
Not everyone has a ton of time to grind out bis items, so being able to put Some time into getting a delve map and a guarenteed hero piece ONCE a week is nice…but said pieces should be at least an upgrade.
Not every item can be insanely good, sure, but jeez…this is just lazy rehash of a s1 curio, that had the terrible idea of half uptime and no base line. At the least it should had a bit of static stats, even reduced amount (like imp ascendancy serum) may have saved it or make it so had a on use and you got both buffs (relic malfunction: you are shrunk but your arms grow huge causing you to receive both buffs at something like 50% or 75% for 20s)
OR
(Malfunction on use: You gain the other buff that you didnt already have active for 20 or 30s, extending currently active buff by same duration and put it on a 2min cd so you only get the big stat bump every other full cycle ) Thatd take it from trash trinket to competitive, while not being OP, would avg out to equivalent of static ~4k main stat/haste but with an active on use to spice it up and line up with your CDs, the 2min CD keeps it from being OP and adds an element of managing it to line up with CDs.
See there…just a few minutes of thought and have an idea thatd fix a trinket while not making it OP, and still maintaining the spirit of the s1 curio and being a fun item that isnt totally useless or a troll, not to say this is the absolute best answer, but just shows if Blizz wanted to they could fix these type items quickly.

I disagree, even season 1 delves had some decent stat stick trinkets. They weren’t as op as some raid or dungeon stuff. But they were far from garbage.
As long as a trinket has main stat, equal to all other trinkets of the same ilvl it is pretty good. The one use or procs will push good raid trinkets up for sure but we’re talking like 1% at that point
I just got this, do not want. Vendoring it. Was somewhat useful as a curio but I want a reliable main stat on a trinket, not “chance of intelllect/chance of haste.” No thanks.
It used to be a Delve artifact for Brann.
His relic was way better as it had 100% uptime in combat, whereas this trinket only has 50% uptime. So it’s 50% as good as a trinket that only has either primary stat or haste on it.
It should have remained a Delve artifact.
Don’t worry, I am sure it just needs a number buff. Next patch notes we will surely see “Amorphous Relic now increases/decreases your size by 30%. (Was 20%)” and everything will be better!
It at least needs to have Main Stat added.
Maybe my sims are messed up but mine even at 632 was like a 3 percent increase even over the energy drink trinket at 649 for my devoker.
I like that they buffed this and it’s still just completely horrible, like someone clearly doesn’t understand it.
They have to be. Energy drink has passive main stat that’s always active and a decent mastery proc. Amorphous relic only has either main stat or haste half the time.

Plug my toon kookiebreath Zul’jin into raid bots, I have it equipped right now. Then do a gear sim and pop the energy drink trinket at 649 into that spot and tell me what it says, maybe I’m crazy lol. Dungeon slice 1 boss. It says it’s a 6 percent decrease if I use the energy trinket. An I simming wrong? lol.
I’m reading your Flarendo’s Pilot Light and 649 Suspicious Energy Drink as a 27,891 increase over your current combo.
Did you do dungeon slice or patchwork? I’m so confused then lol.
