I’m curious if there is a point i should stop stacking master with Any Means Necessary build? i currently have 29.98% crit, 16.80% haste, and 63.60% mastery(gets up to 70% with chaos phial). are there bench marks for my other stats i should be hitting before stacking mastery, or do i just want as much mastery as i can get?
Hi Yvraine,
Balanced stats usually work better, even when using a skill like Any Means Necessary. 60% is more than enough mastery, and those stats are fairly well balanced. I like that you have a decent amount of haste to reduce the cooldown of Immolation Aura, which performs better with Any Means Necessary.
should i trade some mastery for haste to get around 25% though, or keep what I’ve got? there’s not much i could really switch easily besides enchants and weapon runes.
I wouldn’t sacrifice too much mastery for haste. About 15% haste is fine. There are ways of artificially increasing haste if you’re worried about not attacking quickly enough, such as wafting devotion and talenting Furious Gaze for example.
What skills talents benefit the most from any means necessary. Most of our skills do chaos damage anyways?
Also I geared for VDH, so I have 30% crit, 35% haste, 20% vers, and 20% mastery. Mastery is pretty much garbage for VDH. How important is mastery for havoc? I don’t play much havoc this season since I spun up a ret for my dps spot in raid. But I might help my guildies for keys 15-20 as havoc since I parked my ret.
I guess I never really got what any means necessary really did for us.
Mastery is important for doing more Chaos damage and also movement speed if you choose pursuit in the demon hunter tree on the left. Immolation Aura probably benefits the most but there are several skill choices such as The Hunt and Elysian Decree that do change damage types and do good damage with Any Means Necessary. Felblade is another skill that does fairly low damage regardless but it can be improved.
