I think Shaman are the absolute winners, because every tier set they got in DF, was good-looking.
Other classes, hit and/or miss lol.
A sad, but true meme.
My favorite hunter set is still the one from Ulduar, with the gas masks and metal spikes, Scourgestalker set. (Each of the recolors, the blue/red ones from tier, and the green/yellow ones from offset pieces. I farmed all of it, a while ago.)
No new set has been able to topple it, for me at least.
Amirdrassil priest set plays second fiddle to Aberrus. But I can forgive Amirdrassil set for falling behind, because we just got the best set of all time in the previous raid tier.
I don’t know if I agree, but I love seeing an enthusiastic post about armor set design. I think in general all three raids in DF have had good to great sets. An amazing level of detail and 3D bits. Design-wise I think Aberrus had just as many contenders for “best ever” as Amirdrassil did.
Actually, having said that, I decided to pick my preferred sets for each class in this expansion:
Death Knight - Amirdrassil
Demon Hunter - Amirdrassil
Druid - Aberrus
Evoker - Amirdrassil
Hunter - Amirdrassil
Mage - Aberrus
Monk - Vault of the Incarnates
Paladin - Aberrus
Priest - Aberrus
Rogue - Aberrus
Shaman - Amirdrassil
Warlock - Aberrus
Warrior - Amirdrassil
6 for Amirdrassil, 6 for Aberrus, 1 for Vault. Nice. Some very tough choices there, like mage and warrior. Some easy ones, like priest, paladin and druid. Looking at them all together, I am surprised by how little the warlock sets changes with each tier. Kind of the same general design; sinister looking face, big horns, skull belt. Definitely played that safe.
Pally is cool since it can mix with the Trading Post achievement.
Priest I liked the 2nd raid better. Especially the heroic red/grey look.
The rest? Honestly no other would be a set I would pursue for transmog. And for a hunter, I just assume every set is going to look like and im never disappointed.
