Did Blizzard just copy the last three raid bosses from Firelands?
Baleroc = Smolderon
Fandral Staghelm = Tindral Sageswift
Ragnaros = Fyrakk
Is suppose to mirror Firelands a little bit, more so Smolderon and Tindral thematically, but the mechanics are nowhere near similar to the old fights.
Besides all the fire, I dont see how Fyrakk is that similar to Ragnaros thought.
Theme wise it looks like they wanted to capture it. Baleroc and Smolderon use the same models and Fandral Staghelm and Tindral Sageswift are druids. Ragnaros and Fyrakk are fire elemental.
Is it intended for the story or just a call back?
Looking forward to waiting to resub til after wing one opens I guess
Well, Someone already mentioned it, but there´s the complain that every wing now release 1 week, except for the last one.
Its kind of weird approach, IMO.
Why the last wing can’t release Dec 5? It’s like watching a series with a new episode each week and then there’s a break and you’ve to wait 2 weeks.
The boss wasn’t tested on the ptr, maybe Blizzards wants to see how it goes for normal/heroic to see what needs to be nerfed for LFR.
Agreed. Raids are not exciting anymore, how many years have we been on this temporary loot treadmill? Seasonal progression means nothing. We need actual long term content
Not sure where you got that from.
Gear progression being playing the FOMO timegate rather than a grind that respects you is the basal issue. Or more specifically, dealing with people over the friction created from that core issue that already devalues such. Raiding is DOA because of this combination.
ie, Hassling people who are afraid to “waste their lockout” to put together groups just to checkbox that weekly raid lockout for gearing that’s playing the timegate ain’t it. No loot reclears and needing to social engineer people and needing to live vicariously through youtube videos of mechs because this bad system of timegate exists is garbage.
Blizzard, I wish you guys took the time to make better class sets. It is very generic tbh.
Thank goodness LFR wings release only a week apart. This is a good change.
I hope this guy fights alongside on this fight and some mechanics work along that and he’s not the boss cuz aesthetically looks idk how to say, “soft” Sherman soft is the exact thing I think of I think its toilet paper with the bears yea that’s what this reminds me of
Speaking of legendaries, does the axe legendary drop in LFR? And what are the criteria? Low drop?
or add more content with slower progression so its a constant and make it where last season isn’t irrelevant completely even make the next raid teir harder by just needing the gear from before they can make some bosses harder but not every boss has to be a mythic boss because all it is , is listening to a raid leader copy the top guilds Strats and still wipe 300 times because they can’t figure out the healer isn’t healing enough and still doesn’t understand a dispel or something that isn’t fun at all fr and guilds literally just follow a step by step guide where u start a timer and do stuff at a certain time, and still wipe so it feels like every wipe is the group not understanding
Today I learned the average LFR raider struggles to write a coherent sentence and is only capable of badly regurgitating old Asmongold talking points off of how the game was played in 2007 in the Burning Crusade.
LFR players could get their Evoker legendary, so I would imagine we can get the axe in LFR as well. However, it IS Blizzard, so who knows…
Jesus found the LFR take.
(For the record, there is nothing wrong with being a casual player. There is when you’re a casual player and then try to suggest game balance decisions for non-casuals. It’d be like if I, a Mythic/multi CE raider, suggested nerfs to pet battles or LFR drops).
I’m going to go over all of these
Timegate vs drops
So instead of drops that average out based off of skill (how much is cleared), you want a generalized everyone is the same ilv range? This sounds like a lot of dev work that ultimately changes little. Mythic raiders, and Heroic raiders, do not want this. This has an opportunity cost of development work, and this accomplishes very little good.
Participation rewards to encourage reclears, cosmetics
… This already exists. Besides reskins based off of difficulty, you get a mount for doing an achievement run of the raid…
Grind vs caps of skill points
Please dear god no. This A) boosts botting and B) encourages people to have incredibly unhealthy playing habits. You can get Cutting Edge and make a decent gold income while still having a life and doing other things. This would absolutely drown out the market with the people who choose to play 16 hours a day.
‘Current state is meaningful choice’
Yes because meaningful choices are fantastic. SL had the right idea but wrong implementation.
Bag flood of currencies
So hey, you’re actually right here! … So like I said, there’s nothing wrong with being a casual player at all, just probably best you critique the casual side of the game. This actually affects both casuals and noncasuals alike, but regardless, this is agreed upon. They’re doing this in 10.2 by the way with crests/fragments not taking up inventory space.
Bonus, poster wrote about not fully trying new content, always playing old, freemium, etc
There’s nothing wrong with playing what you enjoy. There is when you try to destroy what others do as well. Having an “always avoid” mentality means that really, nothing is going to please you, and even if the developers changed 20 things to your own personal liking regardless of how others feel, you still won’t be pleased. It’s a really, really selfish mentality. “I like DF but” – No, you clearly don’t. That’s fine. But don’t change it for those of us who do. “Freemium” … This isn’t freemium… What. Freemium is offering free services with microtransactions. This is literally the opposite. It’s a paid subscription with virtually no microtransactions (there are in-game shop cosmetics but they make up like .0001% of what’s available). “Gearing is meaningless/valueless” This is why people buy boosts for gold yeah? (… Also, I dont approve of it at all, but some with RMT which is a no-no, don’t do that, it breaks ToS). People clearly see value. I see Trade Chat every day spammed with people both advertising making gear and people looking to buy gear. People clearly see meaning and value. You do not, and that is fine. Not everything has to cater to you. I do understand your overall point, that is, “Gear doesnt matter because it won’t be evergreen and it’ll be replaced” – however, if the opposite was true, if gear was evergreen and always had a use, it would mean gearing wouldn’t matter because you already have BiS. As for “different gear for different niches”, you can only have so many. As for “cosmetics only”, some people like that and some do not. “Zero reason to play, that’s trolled out by Blizzard” … For. You. Also, automatically assuming it’s trolled, without giving it a shot, really doesn’t give credibility.
Overall this is one of the most selfish posts I’ve seen of “why isn’t game my way and my way only”, unable to try new things, and completely unable to empathize with other players.
Please do not try to change the game again with any suggestions. We do not want these.
A new raid, new coat of paint over the same thing.
Raiding just isn’t fun anymore. “New” bosses, but mechanically they all feel too similar. Oh bad stuff? Move out. Oh a circle that needs a soak? Get in. Same thing over and over and over… I just find raiding so boring now, and raiding was the only reason I played.
I don’t know if I care to come back honestly. I’ve never missed an Ahead of the Curve, said the day I do is the day I just quit forever
cannot wait for this
They do that to pretend they’re preserving the story from spoilers, even though the cinematic will be up in literal days after the patch releases.
